So how is the view of the main stage from the hill? This is my first year at VIP and really have no clue what to expect other that what I've read here.
Does the hill get full at night during the headliners ?

The view is decent but not outstanding. You are a pretty good way back. The hill never gets so full that you can't find a spot but the chairs they put out for you and the covered areas can fill up pretty quick during big acts.

The hill is kind of stage left, and it is a good ways from the stage. Still, it's a good view. You can make out the stage clearly, with no obstruction, and you can see over the entire crowd at What, with the ferris wheel far off in the background. It's a nice view. It does fill up at night, during the headliners, but I've never had a problem finding a spot, even when arriving after the shows have started.

Awesome, good information thanks! Depending on who is playing on the What stage, I may want to be closer but the idea of not being in that crazy crowd is kind of nice.......

I'm Pretty positive the hill is stage right, just thought id throw that in...
Andrea - I've got tons of photos from the Hill, with various bands playing, on my FB if you want to get an idea of it.
The only time it was ever slam-up (for me) was during Jay-Z. That shit was nuts! Ron and I were with about 6 others and we couldn't find a decent spot anywhere and ended up standing on the steep embankment near the back. It was also really dirty during his set, but that's a different issue.

I'll be the one to ask: Trash-dirty or people-gettin-it-on dirty?
HA! Trash dirty. I never even thought about the other way, although I have seen people getting frisky on the hill. Al Green '09, saw more than a few people getting their swerve on - hippie skirts hide a lot.
But I HATE HATE HATE 1/2 empty water bottles anywhere on the Farm, let alone on the freakin' Hill! C'mon people! THat's just begging to ruin someone's weekend with a twisted (or broken!) ankle.

The hill is perfect if you want to enjoy an act and not have to stand in the middle of a bunch of people (who haven't showered in a few days). I'm not a snob, but I am a little older and like to enjoy the music sitting down. Best of all, there are bathrooms (porto's) so you don't have to see some guys peeing on the ground or in bottles! Bring a good set of binoculars and it will feel like you are up front. Yes, you'll look like a dork, but you'll be amazed at how many people ask to borrow them!

The VIP hill is on the left side of the field if you're facing What, so I guess that would make it stage right.
So can we bring our own chairs to the Hill? Or are we still restricted to the foot off the ground requirement for chairs?
You could much more easily bring any chair (within reason). With the slope of the hill and all the space provided it is hard to block someones view. You will find that everything is a little easier as a VIP. Last year I was able to stroll right on in to the pit area once they were "closed off" or "full" with just a simple flash of the wristband after a couple of GA folks were told that they couldn't go in. I also experienced several extra nice gate checks walking into centeroo. Even though all it takes is a few extra bucks to get VIP tickets, I felt like I actually was one!!
Mike I'm gonna need that reassurance! I've been a bundle of nerves all day, just thinking about dropping that much money on Roo tickets. I'm a little crazy, I realize, but for me, that's A LOT of money!
But with the extra energy each day from not walking all those miles, showers for free whenever you want, ALMOST REAL BATHROOMS attended 27/7, no line on the interstate to get in, free beer in the VIP party area Thursday night, bigger spaces grid out for each car, cmon . . . . Your going with us
I think my issue is that I'm doing it mostly for my roommate, who had a bad experience in GA last year. I've personally had fantastic GA experiences the past three years, especially with check-ins / waiting time (usually 1 hour) and tent-only camping. I guess I feel like I'm spending a lot more and I'm afraid I'm going to have very similar experience, ya know?
It's just cold feet! I know it will probably be worth it just to spend those four days with you awesome folks

I'm kinda in the same boat Julie. I'm hoping the difference in the experience is worth it. I won't be with my usual roo crew and that's gonna feel a little weird. I do have this feeling that this group experience is going to be life-changing. Ahhhh! Is it June yet???
