I noticed in the pre-sale info that "air-conditioned" has been removed from the description of the exclusive VIP lounges and showers. No mention is made of free food and booze on the Thursday party either.
I was thinking of going VIP this year, but if the AC and free food is gone for this year -- well that might be a deal-breaker.
For those who went last year, do you remember if AC and free food on Thursday was advertised? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Up until 2008 food was included in VIP although it was not last year and looks like it won't be this year. There was an option to purchase it separately, but it was pricey.
I'm pretty sure food and beer will be free on Thursday. It was in the past, but if beer isn't it won't break my decision. Say I have at max 3-5 beers. That's only say $5. I'm with you though I hope they have it. Free beer is a good way to meet new friends : )
I think they always used the same air-conditioned bathrooms. I hope they don't change that.
I can't imagine the lounges not being air conditioned. They would get way too hot if they weren't.
Maybe try writing an email to Bonnaroo. I'm curious to know the answers myself actually.
I just looked and the beer and food is still provided on Thursday night. I don't know about the lounges though. Last year lounges, restrooms, and showers were advertised as being air conditioned, but I couldn't imagine them not being this year.
You'll likely find free air conditioning at the FUSE barn again this year. Things could change but I've been told they won't be making it private again in 2011
Are the drinks still discounted for VIPs? How much of a discount is there? I remember hearing about it a few years ago, but was always in the GA section. I went the first two years, and now it's time for my return. Can't wait!
We went VIP last year and found nothing to warrant the cost. Driving in with an RV and going GA this year. We can make our own VIP area that way. After all, who knows better how a VIP should be treated than you do!
If someone approached me just as I pulled into the ten-hour line last year and said they had a guaranteed way to cut my wait down to only two hours for $100 bucks, I'd pay it.
If someone approached me on Saturday and said that for $100, they could take me out of the heat and supply me with a shaded, air-conditioned hut, I'd pay it.
And if someone approached me on Sunday and said that I could have eliminated the forty-minute walk to Centeroo by paying $200 at the start of the weekend for the most-prime tent location possible, I would have paid it in a heartbeat.
Or, I could have just bought a VIP ticket and saved myself a couple bucks, not to mention a lot of shady side-deals.

carsoni4 hit the nail on the head, in my opinion. I went GA in 06 and 07 and have went VIP every year since. In the three years I've went VIP, the longest it took me to get in was 40 minutes. Most of the time, I've pretty much just sailed in, with little to no line. Getting out, save for in 08, has been the same way. My wife wouldn't go GA, even if someone offered to pay for her ticket. She just loves the shorter walk to Centeroo, the big air conditioned tent in VIP and the bathrooms.

Everybody's financial situation is different so comparisons here can be tough but there is nearly no set of circumstances under which I would choose to go GA over VIP.

So here we are for her second roo my third and we ARE going vip. This will be first ever vip expierence at any festival and I've been doing them since 76 so I will definately let you all know what I think of the cost vs the amenities.
