I pretty much only play animal crossing on my switch but does anyone have any recommendations for me? Not huge into shooting games or ones that have too much involvement lol

uhhh, can you give at least one more example of a game you like? If not, and animal crossing is all you play for real, just move to Stardew Valley

I like animal crossing bc I can watch tv at the same time. I have a wii and an original Nintendo. My favorite games on those were any Marios, bubble booble, street fighter or mortal kombat
Love my Switch. Couldnt have gotten through the pandemic so far without it. The best game on switch is easily Breath of the Wild. Like bar none. My girlfriend bought Animal Crossing and loved it of course, but I urged her to try Breath of the Wild and when she did she didnt touch Animal Crossing for months.
I've been getting into JRPGs lately and have loved Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2. A fun strategy RPG is Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
Also picked up the Skyrim and Witcher 3 ports to scratch my open world fantasy adventure itch after completing Breath of the Wild.
And if you're into fighting games, can't go wrong with Smash Bros. Those cover pretty much all of my recs.

Super Mario Odyssey is great and currently on sale at Best Buy for $37. A must for any Switch owner.

It took my wife and I 150 hours to beat Assassins Creed: Valhalla and the last 15 hours were anticlimactic af. We've been playing for 8 months...dammit.
Stack of Switch games waiting for us to start at least, Kirby, Paper Mario and Pokemon Snap are getting some love soon.

New Pokémon Snap is wonderful. I expected a pretty slim cash grab, but it’s full of content, personality, replayability, charm, and quality.

Excellent, I played through the first world with my brother when it first came out. Just two trips through. I'm excited to dive in because I played the first one a ton.

This one has multiple levels with different "phases" and alternating paths. Really great and wholesome! Bandai Namco knocked it out of the park.

My gf with over 500 hours of animal crossing pretty much only plays Zelda games otherwise. But those may be more involved than what you're looking for.
Teddy's suggestion of Stardew is a good one but I definitely put more time into ac myself and couldn't get into it as much as I did new horizons.
You could try pokemon sword/shield as something low maintenance to play while watching TV. They have a camp setup where you can play with your pokemon that I always had some fun with like playing fetch or making soup for my party
Really glad I didn't get tempted to buy Mario Golf at full price, seems like the reviews are saying it wasn't worth it
I rented it from work and haven't had the strength to return it because me and my gf are having so much fun with it, if you've ever liked any Mario sports game then I'd recommend it. But this is coming from a guy who loves Mario sports titles

Ah see you have someone else to play with. My girlfriend is what I would like to call "needy" and loathes when I'm playing that rather than giving her attention/doing something she enjoys too. I mostly play when she's not at home, at night after she's in bed, or when she's reading. But that's a me problem lol, and I'm probably making it sound worse than it is. That's why I'm totally fine to wait for snap
I've been too busy nolifing Lost Ark. Korean MMO receiving a NA release also published by Amazon. NA beta date should be announced soon after New World beta ends if you are looking for something to check out while you wait on New World to release. Can't say enough good things about this game.
