I know some of you folks are in the medical field and might be able to explain this a little better to me and possibly calm some fears....
A friend had a CT scan done last week because she was having pain in her side which turned out to be a small hernia. But in the results, the doctor told her that she also has a pulmonary nodule on her left lung that's 1cm in diameter. She has an appointment with a pulmonologist in two weeks, but right now, she is flipping out, and now I'm worried.
Of course, it could turn out to be completely benign, but then again, it could be malignant....
About my friend: she's 28, a non-smoker, rarely drinks, and exercises regularly. She doesn't have a history of lung issues in her family either.
What do you all think? Worth worrying over or no? What is the treatment of a benign pulmonary nodule?
Persons who have been diagnosed with benign SPN should undergo chest x-ray films or CT scans every 3-4 months in the first year, every 6 months in the second year, and once every year for up to 5 years.

^^yep what she said and what I said on FB. I find at least one or two of these on patients daily. I bet it is a granuloma which she probably has elsewhere in her body as well. Some people are just prone to get them.
