The VIP party last year was one of my Bonnaroo 2009 highlights. It was a great way to get the party started. I sure hope they do it up at least as well this year.
we did it in 2008, we planned ahead of time which way to set up so the sound wouldn't be directed to any campsite... after turning it on we asked our neighbors if it bothered them, everyone said no. You may want to bring a radio to try to drown out the sound with something a bit more pleasing. We hardly used ours, waste of time for us.

Hey, I went last year to Bonnaroo and I can't find the information on the bonnaroo.com site. So hopefully you guys can help me, how big is the camping space for non RV camping in VIP?
I'm going down to Roo for Pittsburgh. About a 13 hour drive. If I'm going VIP, should I still hang out in the Walmart parking lot Wednesday night? Would that make it OK to spend the night in Chattanooga and then drive up early Thursday morning? Basically wondering when I should leave.

July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!
As to when to get there, in 07 we stayed outside Manchester and got to the Holiday Inn at noon. It was a clusterf*ck and we didn't get set up until around 4. In 09 we stayed in St. Louis and got to the HS around 3 and were set up by 4 and was hassle free. I don't really think it matters that much, but I'd be interested what others experienced.

My group has arrived at Coffee County Highschool at 10am Thursday for both 08 and 09. 08 was an in and out sort of speed. In 09 the staff seemed confused and disoriented at first, a lot of people showed up at or prior to 10am, they didn't seem ready for it. Talking to a kid in a staff shirt, he told me they didn't get much training and the people in charge weren't around initially. Yet, still, we were set up camp in VIP by 1pm, both in 08 and 09. We plan to do the same in 0'10.

Quick question: Has anyone here rented an on-site RV in VIP before? My friends are looking into it and it just doesn't seem worth the money. I've searched the boards and can't find anything about the on-site RVs. Please let me know! Thanks
its the consensus of inforoo in previous discussions that the on-site RV rentals are expensive and would not be worth the money to the average person...
