huge decline in sales for Guitar Hero and Rock Band. The speculation is that its due to oversaturation of titles.
""You just get way too much content. The installed base has a lot of music, and they don't really need a lot more. It's sort of like buying more books when you have a stack of books left to read. You just don't." ~Michael Pachter, Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst
Oh Yeah? Well, I'm very anti-Mario! And don't even get me started on Tony Hawk games. And I'd gladly kill anyone who ever dares to mention Karnov!
How is anyone "very anti" any video game? Like it or not. Play it or don't. I can't imagine caring enough to ever taake a hardline stance on one. Am I missing something?
Out of curiosity, why are you so anti rock band/guitar hero?
i just downright don't like videogames personally to tell you the truth. i got a wii for xmas like three years ago and haven't played it in like 10 months. but even then, at least games like mario and halo allow people to virtually explore another world that they would never get to experience regularly. and games like call of duty and grand theft auto grant some people the satisfaction of slaughtering other human beings without having to deal with the legal trouble. i just don't get the fun in pretending to play the guitar instead of actually learning to play a guitar and thus experiencing the real magical world of music. i just look at it as an unnecessary substitute. but hey i guess the same can be said about the madden football games. i never liked playing that either. guess somethin's wrong with me cause i don't get it.
so i guess the fair thing to say would be that i'm anti-videogame. i've seen the negative effects videogames can have on people. my roommates's life revolves around them, and thus he has no life at all really. my aunt and uncle actually divorced a long time ago due to that everquest game. everything is good in moderation yadayadayah even i have a wii. i just find the real world more interesting. never really felt videogames have had anything interesting to add to my life. but if you like them that's cool just don't ask me if i'd like to play because i don't want to.
everything in life can have negative effects or just about. bonnaroo being one of them (for some people who can't handle it). it's all about how you handle a situation. i've seen people not leave their house for weeks due to video games but i wouldnt be against v-games due to that. i rather blame the person, same with gambleing, movies, music etc. everyone always needs a scapegoat when in reality it's themselves with the problem... not the video games
