That's their first U.S. show? Wow did not know what.
Don't worry about Soundgarden vs. Arcade Fire if previous schedules are any indications it will go Soundgarden vs. Phoenix Green Day vs. The Strokes Lady Gaga vs. Arcade Fire

If COS is right, I might not go. Green Day vs. Phoenix is a waste of a night as I don't want to see either that much. There's a good chance I'll do ATP instead of this. On paper, Lolla looks like a no brainer because there's way more bands I want to see on that lineup. All things considered though, ATP would probably be the better choice.
Gaga vs. anything but Soundgarden or Phoenix would suck for me but not the end of the world. I do have seats for her in Pittsburgh in Sept. If what CoS has is true then it's Strokes, Green Day, and Arcade Fire has headliners for me.
"You look like you're listening to every note." - Lady to me during LCD's "final" show 2023: Mar 29 - Guster Apr 6 - Postmodern Jukebox Apr 26 - Father John Misty May 14 - Taylor Swift (Philly) May 17 - Robert Plant and Alison Krauss July 12 - moe. July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!

Am I the only one that does not get the whole Gaga craze?

i'm baffled by how big Lady Gaga has gotten. she's mediocre at music and awesome at being fuggin weird. she's an attention-whore and i'd respect her more if she just played her music instead of being known for her weird ass outfits

I'd be in heaven if we could have Lolla headliners with bonnaroo undercard (scoring Flaming Lips as an undercard). Not for if I'll make it.... would love to see Arcade Fire and the strokes though.
Wait, what's this? MIA doesn't think Lady Gaga is talented? HAHAHAHA! That's the pottle calling the kettle black if I ever saw it. Gaga may not be great but she has more talent in her pinky than MIA's whole entourage could ever hope to have. Saturday night of Coachella 08, that's all I have to say. That's when everybody was 100% assured that she is nothing more than a complete joke. She's the Milli Vanilli of today.

I love MIA...but I was at Coachella (it was 09) and I have to agree with this (sigh). Still love rockin her albums though. Not gonna lie, never listened to this GaGa (???), but that's not gonna change if she's playing at the same time as ARCADE FIRE!!!
No, no, no dude you have no idea. You actually saw her at her very best in 09. In 08 she was on at the same time as Kraftwerk on saturday night. In 09 they brought her back to replace Amy Winehouse and try to redeem herself. 08 was an absolute quacking disaster. One of the biggest trainwrecks in live music of all time. That was one for the books.
My problem with Lady Gaga is one, her music is terrible "electropop" garbage.
And two, and this part is what makes her truly awful, is her fans. All I've heard is, "Oh she's uber talented and writes her own songs and plays the piano."
These people are assuming there is a dearth of talented female singer songwriters in the music world, and thats a shame. It really puts down the really talented female musicians out there. I mean just take a look at the Bonnaroo line-up. For the amount of money Lollapalooza spit out for Lady Gaga, Bonnaroo probably spent the same or even less for the number of female musicians this year.

Someone please explain the MIA Coachella 08 disaster. I am ignorant on the subject. I've never seen her live, but I think i've seen people on Inforoo say positive things about her Roo 08 Performance. Please explain im just curious.

Oh God. I really don't even know where to start. I was watching Kraftwerk so I didn't witness this myself but I read all about it on the boards (there were several threads dedicated to this epic failure) and some boardies even got some video (which I'm sure was immediately pulled from the web by her label.) So you're going to have to go over to that board and search for it to get the whole picture. Milli Vanilli got caught lip synching, she basically got caught doing everything fake. Highlights were the incredibly annoying and very loud airhorn samples they were using to try to get people to leave the tent, the lights going out on purpose several times, and the best was her manager and several other men in business suits running out on stage, waving their arms yelling, "Get her out of here! Shut if off! It's over, she's done, LET'S GET HER AND GO!!!"
Oh and I love Gaga. MJ's dead, Madonna's too old, Britney ... well she was never really that good anyway. We need a new pop icon and she fits the bill perfectly.

She is a combination of MJ, old, dead, Madonna, and ..., that's for sure.
Well whatever the case may be for that MIA show that you did not see when I actually saw her myself at Osheaga 07 she put on an amazing show... then I saw her again a year later in a club show and that was an even better performance.

HAHAHA, I knew some stupid jackass was going to try and refute it by saying it's not credible because I didn't see it myself. I've seen her a few other times. Coachella 08 is written in history. My opinion on it doesn't matter at all. What's done is done.

Well you're acting like the fact that it was a catastrophe is somehow negated because I wasn't there in person to see it with my own two eyes. Yeah let's just ignore the consensus of the thousands of people who were there to see it in person because I chose to watch Kraftwerk instead. Woodstock didn't happen because I wasn't born yet. Everything you hear about it is all just talk, don't buy any of it.
