Hey, saw the thread about making your campsite look occupied in the that tent forum and was wondering if we will have the problem of people stealing our tent while going vip? They do have security on watch right?
Yes. It can occur anywhere. In 06 on Monday morning we woke up and a backpack that had contained a very valuable couple of large mason jars was missing. Some of our neighbors that we hung out with multiple times over the fest and seemed like the coolest guys ever took it. They were already gone and one of our campers thought he saw something shady going down in the middle of the night. Luckily for us I had removed the jars before I crashed. We found the bag on the ground over in their area.
Long story short, even the coolest neighbors have only been your neighbor for a couple of days. No telling who they really are.
Phish is gonna steal the face right off my head. I was VIP and did not have a problem last year, still just make sure you lock your stuff up in the car when you aren't there.

thanks...I figure to lock up valuables in the car...but was worried about tent stealing...surely with security in vip and limited amount people allowed we shouldn't have a problem like ga people will
There's always a possibility of someone taking something, but VIP is pretty much a wook free zone. It'll be MUCH less of an issue than in GA. Just don't leave anything valuable lying around when you're not there and you'll be fine.

Will there be stealing in VIP? We'll see. I need a canopy badly and am gonna see if my volunteer wristband will help gain entry to the high rent neighborhoods in pursuit of same.
Stealing is rare, especially in VIP. It does happen but I've never locked up anything except my wallet and camera (left gear, coolers, whiskey , CD player, etc. out) and have never had anything stolen in 6 Roos. Even when I had a wook infested camp in '07.
Your tent is about as likely to get stolen out of your garage as it is to get stolen at Roo. But DO lock up your valuable. No need tempting fate.
BTW, read the complete "Making your space look occuppied forum" and the other sinmilar ones for more discussion of theft.
Did anyone have a problem with this? Our neighbors were so cool and the horses were around so much I didn't really give it a thought. Didn't leave tempting stuff- camera, backpack, etc.- around but also left the day cooler in the shade tent and didn't really worry about it or our gear. Worried more about rain!
