The bathrooms are great - air-conditioned, running water, and the women's were kept very clean, although I've heard the men's were not as clean.
There were two different sets of showers. One was less private - a trailer with stalls separated by curtains. The other set had individual stalls. There were some that the water ran boiling hot, and some that were freezing cold, and others that were somewhere in between. As long as you paid attention to people coming out and didn't get in a scalding or ice cold one, they were fine. Not the cleanest things ever, but not horrible either. Hopefully this year they'll have that freezing/scalding thing fixed.
The bathrooms are one of the perks in VIp in my opinion. The womens bathrooms we're clean and private and even flushed. If you have bowl problems in distant bathrooms this will make you a little more comfortable. The showers on the other hand...I have never taken so many cold showers in my life. It did give me a little more energy for late night.
I emailed them about the water temp problems we had last year, and the reply is below. I may be naive, but I'm hoping it will be fixed this year. I also hope I wasn't too angry sounding in my original message to them, but I sent it when they posted the increased price with no food included, so I was a little irritated with 'em. What I stated was all true...I could hardly use the trailer marked for women. Still feel a bit buttholey about it, though. :\
Hi Michelle,
Thanks for your email. We apologize for the problem that you had with the showers last year! I will forward your email on to the appropriate person so that they can work on bettering the Bonnaroo experience for you and others. Thanks again for letting us know.

I have sensitive skin, and they were almost completely unusable for me. With the price increase and the lack of included food this year, I'm really hoping the water temperatures will be better monitored this time. Thanks!

I'm glad you emailed them. I could handle the cold ones, but the hot were actually dangerous. And for these prices, we shouldn't have to freeze in the showers. I hope they straighten it out.
I don't think you sounded angry or unreasonable at all.
You're right, the hot ones were dangerous. The cold ones just hurt...or they did to me, at any rate. Like I said in my email to them, I have very sensitive skin. I can protect against the sun, but I can't do much about protecting against the water where I can't adjust anything.
That was my thinking, too, that having payed so much, not freezing our tots off by the showers. Gotta say to the OP, though, that I agree about the bathrooms being a VERY nice change from GA. I can't go back to the portos. There are many good reasons to go VIP, but for myself, I have to admit I pay that much mostly for the "facilities." I have issues.
Thanks, viciouscircle, for reassuring me that I wasn't too much of a pooper. ;D

You were nice - had I thought to email them instead of just bitching to friends I wouldn't have been able to be that even-tempered. Good thing I'm lazy! The bathrooms are a big reason I go VIP, too. I don't mind portos when it's a festival that I am going back to a hotel each night and can take a nice hot shower. But in a camping situation, I just feel so much cleaner the entire time from rarely having to use a filthy porto - two or three times the whole weekend. I just like feeling clean, it makes me feel more energetic.
I with you girls on the bathrooms. That's a big part of going VIP. I got pretty lucky with the showers last year. I did not get any scalding hot ones. I did take at least one ice cold shower, but it wasn't too bad because I was all hot and sweaty. The showers do get pretty dirty by the end of the weekend. Remember to bring some shower shoes. But, overall, they're still a nice perk.
Yes with the energy! The year before in GA, I don't know that I ever made it past something like 11pm. Last year in VIP, I made it until at least 4 every night. Ready access to showers and happy pottying had a lot to do with it, me thinks. And the only reason I wasn't more bitchy with them was I waited until the end of last year to email 'em. ;D
I second the shower shoes. Sunday did reveal some kinda funky showers. Lots of grass and stuff. It's a good idea, anyway, just because of they're shared showers. And didn't they have that black plastic grating on the floors of the trailer ones? I have the most wussy feet on earth, and that stuff hurts them, so they helped with that, too.
