Thought this was interesting (and I'm going). The Dalai Lama is coming to foxboro on May 2nd. There is a 2 hour presentation of some kind, then a break with some kind of service, then another 2 hour presentation. Sounds pretty interesting - you can go to the whole thing, or just the afternoon. I'm told parking is free!
This event takes place rain or shine. Children under the age of 2 do not require a ticket to attend. Session #1 is from 9:30AM -11:30AM. Session #2 2:00PM -4:00PM. Those patrons holding tickets for Session #2 only will be allowed to enter the stadium at 11:30 AM. No bags, cameras, phones, or video allowed. There is no re-entry if a patron exits the building.
Seems kinda cool. I checked his website and it looks like he's going to be a couple other places before he heads to Europe.

Side note: I love how in Massachusetts, people/bands always list the venue as Boston, even if it is an hour away and nowhere near Boston.

I wish he would come to the South! I would love to go to something like this. He is a fascinating man. I watched the webcast of him and Dave Matthews last year and really enjoyed it.
There's a Buddhist monastery about a half hour outside of Madison. He's here every 2-3 years visiting.
He's been to Madison since I've seen him speak (05? 06?) but that didn't work as well with my wallet/work schedule. When I saw him, it was a free afternoon event. I just couldn't swing a morning appearance that had a price.
If I catch wind that he's in the area again, I'll try to remember to give you a heads-up.
