Picked up one of these at Target today for a little over $20, cheaper than most of the other "camping" traditional battery powered lanterns. Pretty bright.

^^^ That's the same lantern I used last year and will be taking again this year. It's a good one....even has a mirror on it so you can see how messed up you got the night before when you wake up!
I would never have known about steepandcheap.com if not for this board and today I picked up a Eureka Autumn Wind 3XD (which ranges from $180 to $280 online) for $120. No longer must I endure cheap tents of days past - THANKS!
what do you guys think of this tent? i thought it was pretty chill since you can stand up in it and its very roomy for the price. i was going to get an equally tall ez-up and hang a tarp between the two. im flying in so i know ill have to pay the fee for an extra bag for the ez-up since it weighs like 40 pounds, but the tent is only 11 so i may be purchasing tomorrow
edit: i think this is only the hanging part off the gazebo. lame!

Yep, It's the hanging part but I had bought one similar to that from Dick's and it was really nice. But I took back it back because the EZ UP part was really flimsy. They are pretty easy to put up and take down so it may be nice to have for roo. You could put the tent part up and when it gets warm out, just attach the hooks again and you have shelter. I'd rather have a tent and an EZ UP but I'll be driving to roo.

So I work at Leslie Pool Supplies and Spas (national pool store chain... I lead a glamorous life) and I was wandering around the store today and realized its a secret roo haven.
LARGE Personal Fan/Misters (12 bucks), Small fans with clips (clearance 2.66 buy one get one half off) Bullfrog Bugspray +SPF 40 (9 bucks), this crazy 50 can pop up cooler (15 bucks), and a REALLY NICE camping chair with Shade (24 bucks... as opposed to Target.. they're 36+ there!)
...I let people use my discount all the time, especially when people are nice... and use cash. so find a nice kid behind the counter and you get 25% off!
if you go to coleman.com and click on "family store" and enter the password FAMILY when it asks for it, you get mega awesome deals. i just got a tent doing that and saved a lot of dough. it was normally 180, i got it for 113. also, if you buy coleman tents and sun shelter/shades, if something breaks on them, you don't have to throw them away, you can just order a replacement part. hopes this helps someone!

Karma for you (I didn't see the first post either). I used this code the other day and bought a bunch of shit. Had to buy a new canopy and bought several other little odds and ends that we'll need. Spent over $200 to get the free shipping and saved over $80 with the "family" discount. Everything shipped out yesterday and is in three separate packages... so I can't imagine how much more I saved with the free shipping.

If you've got a BJ's near you and you're a member, they've had all of their 5-day coolers on sale lately as well as publishing coupons in their little flyers for them. Adds up to a nice little deal (although I don't remember the exact prices at the moment).
Haha, the best part about them is when they're opening a new store. Nothing better than cruising down the road and seeing a sign that reads, "BJ's: Coming Soon!"
