He'll probably end up being like a Butch Taylor. Play with them for 8 years but not a member of the band. I noticed in their tour photo its only the four of them. Obviously no one can replace Roi but I don't know if they can do any better than Jeff Coffin.
no really I heard it from a buddy of mine who heard it from someone he does not know but says he is very reliable when it comes to inside info. This unnamed person made it clear to my friend, who actually never met this guy and just knows him from another "good" friend of his, someone I don't even know, though my friend did not actually talk to this guy, that if it is not raining, and there is no mud and there is enough room for all the fans to park and Mike is not accused of anything 'untoward" and the stars are all aligned just so and at least 4 separate message boards keep the faith on this "rumor" or "inside info" (if you will) and Trey remains clean and is absolutely straight for 17 hrs previous to Rothbury that Phish WILL be there to play at least 2-3 songs that at least some fans will be able to recognise. Oh and of course they will sit in for the whole set with the Dead and the members of Zep will be up for the encore.

haha..Trey could stay clean...but straight? i dunno..he was gettin pretty close to mike on that bittersweet motel dvd hahaha

Quick question...has anyone ever seen this Phish cover band Strange Design? They're playing in my neck o' the woods tonight and I'm contemplating checking them out. Also, they've got the McLovins opening up for them and the McLovins kick ass.

Never heard Strange Design but does anyone know whatever happened to Phix? Are they still around? We also have a local Phish cover band called Tripping On Nothing who are really starting to get good. They can absolutely nail YEM.

I think Phix is pretty much done. Their website says they'll still play parties and private shows, but it looks like they aren't tourning any more. Given their name, it seems appropriate that they'd stop when the boys came back.

so I have a question...I've heard Icculus is a rare song for Phish to play live, but I love the 2001-mikes-simple-catapult-simple-icculus-simple-mikes-i am hydrogen they do on live phish 10 and I'd looooove to hear Icculus at bonnaroo...I'd go nuts.

Highly doubtful we get a full Gamehenge at 'roo. I have said this before in another thread but generally when Phish did the Gamehenge it was in a smaller room, with a quiet, respectful audience obviously the exact opposite of 'roo. Someone else mentioned they would not do it because a percentage of the crowd (who don't really 'know' Phish) would just get bored with all the speaking parts. I partially agree with this (I mean YES indeed people not in the 'know' WOULD get bored.) but I think the reason it will not happen will be more the overall feel for the band and not them worrying whether parts of the crowd are going to not be into it. Which of course- to play devils advocate with myself- WOULD affect the bands "flow" if half the crowd does not even care about Tela, Forbin, the ac/dc bag and the multibeast.
