I am not as impressed as last year. Although FLIPS and CAKE back to back nights at Red Rocks was a dream come true. I just dont feel it this year. I like TVOTR, Band of Horses, and Holy Fuck, but nothing else stands out. I am in Denver and would love to go though. Anyone have any suggestions for me that I can try and get into to make this worth it? How about Devotchka and Justice? I know of them but have not gotten into them.

people are treating Justice like daft punk two years ago, so if you like DP, then you will like them ... and i have seen Devotchka and they are really a very good band ... i missed last year because i was saving for vegoose, but i guess i dont have to do that this year if you are local, going to waters tomorrow ? cr****

Do not miss: Band of Horses Justice Akron/Family Blitzen Trapper
Those will be amazing shows. I would love to make this, but it's pretty far away and I'm sure it's during school . Plus the Virgin Fest is a month before.

canexplain...thanks for the tips, and hell yes I will be at Rogers tonight!!! I was hoping we were going to get him at Bonnaroo so I was holding out on tix, but I bought some and am very excited. See you there!
The highlight on this lineup for me is The Fratellis a great band that rarely comes to the US. But other bands I am excited for The Cribs, Holy F*ck, Silverson Pickups, CSS, Tokyo Police Club, Tilly and the Wall.
But overall weaker than last year. So many of these bands have just played in Denver or will play soon. Justice, Devotcha (local), Cut Copy, Holy F*ck, a place to bury strangers, tokyo police club, the cribs, hearts of palm
what was it like? tips? advice? we're thinking about going but the festival is so new it's hard to find information on it.
hotel or camping? do people sit at the shows? (from some pictures it looks like people were in chairs)
Any information would be appreciated!
Squirrel...I went last year and agree with idioteque, flips at red rocks was amazing. To try and answer a few of your questions...
The festival was well run. They had about five stages set up, but only the main stage and the stage at the top were good locations. The others were usually way to crowded. If you are going to see some lesser known but good bands this may be something to think about.
It sounds like you have never been to red rocks before so I will try and explain the setup there. People were not sitting in chairs, but rather in rows of "bleacher" type seats. It is a very steep setup and you just sit (or stand) on benches. Its nice because you have about 3 feet in front of you to stand...plenty of room to dance.
There is NO CAMPING at red rocks. It sucks and it one of my biggest complaints. There are compgrounds nearby but you would have to drive and they would not be like a roo campground. Hotels are all over the area, I would reccommend getting something in golden.
Hope that helps a bit. Feel free to pm me for more information.
