People are givng respect to Talib Kweli when comparing his lyrics to Kanye but I have heard very very little about Lupe Fiasco. This guy is absolutely sick and needs to be checked out, I know hes on the top 5 of guys to see on my list because I know hes gonna do it right. His lyrics are better than Talib (Kweli has some great songs with powerful lyrics but sometimes there something lacking) and I really dont see a "bad" song by him and all of his beats are awesome. I expect a band for half of his set and a DJ for the other half. If you havent checked him out yet, he isnt your average hip hop artist and I would urge you to check him out. Songs that I reccomend: Daydreamin I Gotcha Kick Push American Terrorist The Instrumental Sunshine Gold Watch Paris/Tokyo Superstar Put You On Game Little Weapon The Coolest Touch The Sky (Kanye West ft. Lupe Fiasco) Kick Push 2 High Definition (Snoop Dogs lines arent great but they are catchy )
Tell me what you guys think of him, personally I think hes the best hip hop act thats gonna be on the farm and it wont change unless they bring Atmosphere, Cunninlyguists, Nas, Brother Ali, Beastie Boys, P.O.S. and maybe a few mroe.
Yea tha new lupe album is really good. Everyone should also check out Little Weapon and Hip Hop saved my life from that album. Intelligent lyrics and good beats.

The Coup is a major sleeper. They are fucking awesome live. Not saying anything bad about Lupe and everyone else. But they kicked the Roots ass in comparison at Coachella last year.

lupe will not have a band for his set he only brings a dj and usually one back up singer. i've seen him 3 times and the most people i've seen on stage with him was when he came on stage with kanye and common. that doesn't make a band. he is good live though i think this will be a good setting for him. i do have to admit though kweli is far superior in my mind but that's just me.

Not so fast, JumpinJames, I just saw Lupe perform at USC's Springfest this past weekend, and he did in fact have a backing band. The Dj was there, but he was tucked away in the corner, very much an afterthought of the show. The backing band played a blend of R & B, Blues and rock, and they were very, very good. Plus it was outdoors, with 10,000 people crammed packed in a quad. It was a perfect setting.
In short, the concert was amazing. Absolutely quacking amazing. If Lupe has a backing band with him, im there.
Lupe is not even in the same league as Talib...he's not bad tho. I really didn't care for him much at first. Then when got on the bill I gave him another listen. Like I said...not bad but no Talib or Coup for that matter.
