my experience was unique, plenty of people bitching about other people at r/phish. like i said i guess i got lucky all things considered. i'm due to be next to some dumb assholes at future shows.
I also want to point out that as someone who has been to quite a few shows, big and small, since June most people have been very well behaved and if someone is acting up it usually doesn’t affect anything. The only other times it’s been noticeable were at the Wilco/SK show, last night at Thurston Moore, and when I had to step in to stop a fight from happening at a Mountain Goats because a drunk guy decided to try pushing past a guy in the front wearing an ACAB mask lol. Not sure what it is with these Gen X indie guys attracting phenomenally weird people to their shows but it’s a trend!
I've actually noticed people doing less filming / taking pictures and whatnot to post on their socials or share at that exact moment. Like I've gone to a bunch of events now, including one two day festival and I'm not sure if I just happen to go to shows that have people doing it less than younger audiences or if it's just a thing coming back people living more in the moment? I'm not sure. I hope it's a thing.
Went to the first of four (!) sold out Japanese Breakfast shows in Chicago tonight. If before they were basically a shoegaze band with pop ambitions, today it’s the inverse. And that’s not a diss - the band is now a six piece and the songs are greatly enhanced with the additions of violins, sax, and keyboards, keyboards, keyboards. There was still some loudness, especially in the encore with the build of “Diving Woman”, but to give you a better idea of what the band is doing now, near the end of the set they covered Dolly Parton’s “Here You Come Again”. Honestly, it’s great.
That whole tour is great and it's super cool how she's playing multiple nights in all these big cities. I expect she'll play even larger venues during the next album run.

Saw them in, of all places, Lexington Kentucky. Despite Railbird slotting them against Leon Bridges and Billy Strings, they delivered a great set to a decent crowd that had ten times the energy of any other set we saw! Don’t miss ‘em if you get the chance.
Saw Waka Flocka Flame on campus yesterday before our football game. My nose is full of dust, my left ear is still ringing, and I barely have a voice, but it was a fucking blast. Flocka did indeed bring the energy.

Went to see Mannequin Pussy at the local dive punk venue, first show I've been to there since covid. It was so great to see a high energy punk show again with mosh pits. Everyone was great with mask wearing as well. Air flow in the venue also seemed increased over pre-covid.

I ascended to dusty oldhead NYC rap heaven last night - Conway brought out Method Man, Redman, AZ, N.O.R.E., Lloyd Banks, Papoose, and Memphis Bleek on top of having Westside Gunn and Benny the Butcher show up for a mini Griselda group set.

Went and saw TLC/Bone Thugs-n-Harmony last night and it was fine but it feels really good being able to log into concert archives and log my shows again.

We were there. It was good. We were freezing though because we came from the beach where it was like 15 degrees warmer.

Do they have someone that fills in for Left Eye or is it just the two of them now?

Just the two of them. They had a live band + DJ and a bunch of dancers. When they were on the stage they were good but had random moments during the show where the DJ would just start playing songs and everyone would leave the stage which was weird. He started playing Souja Boy and Swag Surf in the middle of the show.
