Seems kind've obvious now... if I am going to pay $60 for an airport shuttle... well why not just rent a car, how much more could it be? Then I can find a walgreens or something, and stock up with whatever I want. That sure could alleviate the whole festival camping in the hot sun with just the stuff on my back fears i have. Definitely have to think about and look into that. This one is gonna take a little extra pre-packing planning creativity to make it perfect. Sounds like fun to me;)
That time of year a car rental will run you a lot more than the airport shuttle. It's Florida during spring break. I've flown to Roo twice and took the shuttle, so I'm full of answers. You've got some time to plan. Maybe an inforooer can pick you up from the airport and give you a ride.

I paid less than $20/day for a rental from Advantage last year -- it was for a compact, but they were out, so they upgraded it to a Pontiac Grand Prix. Cheap. Cheap. Cheap. You just have to book early and go through a smaller company.
Edit: I was thinking of another trip. At Langerado, I ended up paying $125 through Avis for four days -- that was with taxes, fuel, and everything though, as it was through Priceline, so I can't really complain.
It's roughly a 13.5 hour drive for me....that's about 825 miles. Given my gas mileage (which sux! ) that's gonna be about the same price as the absolute cheapest southwest tix I could get right now into Ft Lauderdale....at crappy times of course So it's really a wash on the driving/flying issue right now considering wear and tear on the car, most likely having to drive it alone, having to pack all the camping crap to fly (and pack LIGHT which is a nightmare for me )......sigh.....I really don't know which to do..... ???

^^^ yeah, he definitely wasn't... right after I bought my ticket, I printed a color 8X11 copy of the lineup, framed it, and hung it on my wall, (yeah, I do these things ) I mainly just like to look at it, but hey, it's also a great reference to see what may or may not have quietly changed later on in the game
