As first hinted in the Relix Festival Guide, Meatcamp productions will stage a new, multi-band festival this fall dubbed the Echo Project. The three day event will take place from October 12-14 in Fairburn, GA, 20 miles south of downtown Atlanta. The festival will boast over 60 bands on four stages, including previously announced co-headliner Phil Lesh and Friends. The event is being billed as “the south’s first green music and arts experience.” The festival’s initial artist lineup will be announced on July 30, with Super Early Bird Tickets and travel packages available the following day.
Confirmed acts:
Phil and Friends on Sunday RJD2 on Sunday Cypress Hill on Friday Stephen Marley on Friday Avett Brothers Saturday Damien Marley Friday
If Phil Lesh and Friends were on any day but Sunday, I would go, but I doubt I could go see Phil then drive back to Valdosta for four hours(or more depending on festival traffic) and get back in time to sleep before classes.
the lineup is announce monday, tickets go onsale on tuesday!!
Here is some more relevant info from an article I linked below

I like that fact that it is about half the size of Roo.... Sometimes 80,000+ people in one place is a little too much. I really really hope tickets are not over-priced!

rumors- flaming lips, white stripes, wsp, moe, toubab krewe, disco biscuits, umphreys, dylan, mmj, radiohead dont know if any of these are true hope they are
According to Steph on Jam-On, Umphrey's has been confirmed. This is probably reliable info, cosidering she is married to Warren Haynes, she might have the inside scoop. It would be a nice lineup if the others are true as well. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

LOL I almost hope the line-up isn't that great, or the tickets are way expensive because I am trying really hard to save for my wedding and honeymoon........ Damn this live music addiction I have!!
I wouldn't hold out too much hope for the lineup sucking. I imagine Phil's got the connections to put a killer fest together. As far as ticket prices....we'll see, my best guess $150-180. But who knows? I bet they make the anouncement at 4:20.

Yep you are probably very right about the line-up. Although I bet tickets may be a little less as it is about half the size of Roo. Maybe starting at $125.......

No ticket info yet
Where did you get the lineup? Did Phil call you direct? It's not on their website and I can't find it on jambase yet... though I'm sure it will be there by tomorrow. Kickarse lineup! (Though ACL represents the absolute last pennies I have for festivals this year )

Ack so many good bands and I just really can't spend the money
Although looking it at closer, those are about the same prices as Roo and not nearly as many bands or the big names......
I am actually surpised at the prices. I expected maybe the highest price to be $150, possibly starting around $100. I guess that is what I think would be a reasonable price for what you are getting.

I like how The Echo Project is gearing for an eco-friendly type festival. And that their main concern is to clean up the Chattahoochee River. For those who live in Georgia, you will know how badly polluted that river is. I like the direction this festival is going, and hopefully this festival will be back every year. I like how someone is finally taking initative to cleaning up the Chattahoocee. I wish I could make it, but money is tight and I don't think I can make up to Atlanta for a festival during school.
