oh and 1 more question... I was looking at the interactive map and it looks like there is only VIP seating in front of the main stage....that can't be true right? You can only get close if your VIP?

The 10,000 Lakes Festival announces the addition of The String Cheese Incident to the lineup, confirming a Minnesota performance on their summer tour. The Colorado-based group has spent more than a decade making innovative, genre-defying music and will perform two sets at the 10,000 Lakes Festival Friday, July 20 on the Main Stage.
10KLF announces today that guitarist Trey Anastasio will be unable to perform at the event in 2007 due to circumstances beyond control. Anastasio's spokesperson confirms "Trey is disappointed he is unable to play the festival this year but is looking forward to returning for the 2008 10,000 Lakes Festival."
Just got the email. I think I prefer Cheese over Trey at this point.

No.
There is a large concrete pad in front of the stage - I assume it's used for placing chairs to create a sort of 'pavilion' area at other shows through the year. The front part of the 'lawn' on both sides of the soundboard is reserved for VIP, but the the concrete pad is open for all.
hell ya!!!! I just freaked out when i saw the email saying sci was in! sux no trey but ill take sci anyday. ill see trey plenty of more times. this might have just vaulted 10klf to top lineup of the summer for me. damn i come home from hookahville and we have a schedule, sci is playing 10klf and is a latenight at roo, and i only have one bad schedule conflict at roo and thats keller vs. ben harper. guess ill have to see harper someother time. im not missing keller with the wmd's. life cant get much better! ;D

I agree, this should be a good time. This also takes alot of pressure off Roo conflicts. Zappa plays Zappa, SCI, Mule...wow! This festival is growing by leaps and bounds, hope I can still sneak in this year

I have been convinced, I found a ride, now all I need to do is buy a ticket. Gonna try to get one off craigslist for $100, but if it doesn't work out I'll still pay the $150. It's funny that due to ticket prices and the location/number of people I'm traveling with me going to 10klf will end up costing a little more than 1/2 of what bonnaroo costed, and I am MUCH more excited for 10klf, especially due to camping/artists (I HATED Camp Goldmember's 40 minute walk).
