Today, on this 8th day of February, year 2008... at the age of 24...
I plucked the first gray hair from my head. I wasn't sure it was mine, since I was at work and I work with geriatric patients. I thought perhaps that someone else's hair had ended up in mine... it could have been from my dog, even. But with one quick tug, I knew that it WAS mine. I examined it closely in the light and held it against a dark piece of paper to confirm that it was gray. It was, no doubt about it. At least it was a very pretty silvery gray.
I called my dad and my aunt to ask at what age they found their first gray hair. My dad- 29; My aunt- mid thirties. So early graying doesn't run in my family. But pretty silver gray hair does. So I can hope that when I'm an old lady my hair is long and silver and beautiful and I will not dye it.
Biggest downside is the ticking of my biological clock just got louder.
I was about your age when I found my first grey. My sister is 24 and I noticed the other day she had her first grey. When I pulled it and handed it to her, I'm pretty sure it ruined her day. Neither she nor I have ever heard any tick-tocks, but we're not breeders.
I don't mean to brag... I have all sorts of bad genes in my family, but I do have two great things to look forward to. My maternal grandfather had a full head of black hair until age 73, and besides the color I have the same thickish hair type he does... I don't think I'll lose much or go grey for a while ;D
My mother got the grey hair gene from her mother, though... as of age 45 or so she'd be totally grey if she didn't dye it.
I'm 45 and proudly have a ton of them. Aging is an inevitable part of of this life so don't consider yourself doomed, consider yourself blessed to be here in the first place.
Don't really have any in my hair hair...but I just grew a beard over the last three months or so...and wouldn't you know it...there's grey on my chin...not a whole lot...but enough that I went....wow...there's grey in there...
I think I was 23? Of course I think the stress of the military advanced my genetics for that to happen but that's just a conspiracy theory. But yeah 23... I really don't care, I don't pluck anything. I'd love to look like Steve Martin! (insert sarcasm). I just noticed in the mirror I have a grey eyebrow hair also. It isn't looking good me

i'm not sure how old, early 20s, but i have a grey hair in my left eyebrow. i always pluck it when i notice it. i dye my hair all the time so i don't know if i have any more. but like you said, my mom's mom had beautiful white/silvery hair and with any luck, mine will be too, and i won't dye it.

I spotted a few maybe 2-3 years ago (35-ish). I think if I tried to grow a beard it'd be fairly salt and pepper-ish. Men on my mother's side of the family all started losing their hair fairly young (younger than I am, at least), so I think I've dodged that bullet. My father's side tend to have beautiful heads of stark white... like the Ancient Masters in all those old kung-fu movies. I've always said that when I get old, I want to have hair like that. Very distinguished looking.
16? 13? Yowza. I mean what's the point in focusing on it? I just found out I have high blood pressure, I have a few grey hairs, a hand with 2 pins in it and a bum kidney. Somebody give me some karma lol.
Has anyone ever had a bone reset? JEEEEEZUS christ did that hurt. I wish that on no one.
Anyways grey hairs, sorry. I'm pretty random.

I was 20 when my girlfriend at the time plucked the 1st one... "Ouch!"
My parents were both grey since i can remember, so it's always seemed normal to me, we are all like that... but I am the only one with blondish hair 'round this crew... so mine, lots of them, blend in, not noticible, unless you reall look... and mine are white, not grey at all, would never even occur to me to dye them though, I like them... NOT a thing to be plucked either
I found my first gray hair at 22. I'm like my mom, we both went gray early and went gray quick. I have NO IDEA how gray I am under the dye job... and I don't want to. When my mental age catches up to my hair I'll stop dying it and grow a long gray braid to wear into old age.

No gray hairs yet, but at 18 years old i think its safe to say my hair is starting to thin, so i'm growing it out for what i think will be the last time. Oh well, i look pretty good with a shaved head.
about 4 years ago...when i was fourteen! i have a few to this day, but you couldn't tell unless you were really looking. my dad had half a head of gray by the time he was around 25 so i'm expecting a major increase within the next few years.

I've had gray in my mustache/goatee since my early twenties, my head started getting it about 5 years ago( I'm 39 now) . Oddly, most of the hair on my leg that was shaved when I got my tattoo grew back gray.
I honestly have no idea - I have found a few over the past year - but that is normally when I am due to dye my hair anyway - I have been dying my hair since I was a teenager - so - who knows?
it was my 27th birthday. I was supposed to have off that day, but got pulled into a project and had to be on location at 7am. And so in the middle of the day, I spied it in the bathroom mirror. It had been a crappy birthday for several reasons and this was just the last straw.
Now that's when I always find them - the light shining down on the top of my head really helps me see them. It's only one at a time so I just pluck it out.

I haven't found any grey hairs yet, but I'm still 19, so hopefully it'll be just a bit longer.
My mom stopped dying her hair a couple of years ago and uses Henna. The henna leaves a really pretty reddish color only over the grays, so it looks like she has tons of highlights in her hair. It's gorgeous.

Been sprouting them on my head for years and couldn't care less (which bugged my wife to no end). When they started showing up elsewhere, that did bother me at first, I even pucked the first few but I eventually gave in. I'm apparently going skip gray and go straight to albino white... Don't mind the color, it's the gradual reduction that's annoying me these days!
About a week ago, my friend was doing my hair for me and she went, "OH MY GOD" and then plucked an entirely white hair out of my 20 year old head! Now I always keep my eyes peeled for them... I'm so paranoid I'm going grey young. My grandma went grey in her 20s but my mom wasn't grey until her mid 30s. The thing isn't about age, but vanity: I love my dark chocolate colored hair, and I don't think I could replicate it with hair dye, but I don't want greys sprouting all over it!!

The day after I got engaged... or maybe it was 2 days since I got engaged the night before Thanksgiving and it was found by my sister when we were in a store. Eh, let's say it was Black Friday, 2002. I was 27. Think it was coincidental, because I was happy to be engaged and be married... but it makes it easier to remember!
I still get them, nothing and then suddenly this gleaming hair in the middle of my scalp sticking straight up, like 2' long. So weird. My husband gets them on his shoulders. He'll go to bed and wake up with this 1' long white hair out of his tattoo. He has not a single gray hair anywhere else... just the shoulders ???
Once I decided to go au naturael with the hair color... got it past the shoulder blades and all healthy and fresh, I go gray So I have been dying since and giving it cause to get more creative. This Monday I am going to get it colored and told my stylist, "do what you wish." Looking forward to something non-boring! ;D

None yet and I'm 27 going on 28. My mother was a "silver fox" by the time she was 30. She has gorgeous silver hair. I always thought I'd follow in that tradition, but I haven't yet.
Now at 40, I find them on a daily basis but they aren't yet noticable to others. 
(for anyone that does not know him or met him - he shaves his head)
