JP- 6 months straight through? Nice job. This is high on my bucket list. Did you keep a journal? Were you solo?
6 months straight through. 10 weeks in when i got to the shenandoahs in VA i took a week off to do bonnaroo of course (in prep, i wasn't planning on it but when tickets went on sale i couldnt help myself).
i kept a journal, it's on trailjournals.com if you want to read it. go to the 2011 thru-hikers section and my trail name was 'Poncho'. (as i got further into it, the journal entries got longer and gained more attention to detail). trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?trailname=12058
and yes i started solo, but since so many people attempt Northbound every year i made a lot of friends very quickly, especially since the majority of hikers are people like me (fresh out of college with no job prospects).
here's a picture of me in the 100-mile-wilderness, about 3 days before finishing on Katahdin.
^ I'll get on that eventually. I have 8 full albums of photos on facebook. so it may take awhile to sort through the good ones, upload, and post. Maybe do like one album a week or something. IN THE MEAN TIME MORE PICTURES FROM MAINE

The link you were using was the link to the page on the website where the image was not the actual image. Right-click on the image in IE and click on properties. One of the things it will show is the image url which is what you need to use the image tags. I would say what it is in Chrome, but I'm at work.
