Thursday Night - MMJ (think we'll start seeing bigger shows on Thursday) Friday Night - RHCP (supposedly reuniting this fall to start working together again...and I could def see Flea and them partying it up the rest of the weekend with us) Saturday Night - U2 (oh man the sing-a-longs would be great, who doesn't love U2?) Sunday Night - DMB
Late Night Friday - Incubus...although I'm not sure they have the library to fill the shoes of MMJ, maybe swap MMJ and Incubus Hip Hop Night - NERD "opener" (unbelievable energy live, great way to kick it off) an hour after U2 on What Stage, Common, then Outkast (supposedly also coming out with a new album)
I don't know if I'd be able to make it through Friday or Saturday though. It was tough enough with Metallica -> MMJ/Tiesto and Pearl Jam -> Kanye and I don't really flip over Metallica, or know much of their songs, so I didn't go too nuts. U2 -> NERD would be nuts, but I can imagine Outkast would BRING it. So, if this lineup happens, I'll sleep really well on Sunday morning, haha.
If Superfly is taking that who should headline blog thread on bonnaroo.com seriously, then RHCP will be headlining in 2009. As much hate as they get around here, I love them and think they would be a blast. I always loved their music, but the concert they constantly show on MHD makes me want to see them badly.
Oh, and in my dream world Dispatch headlines Sunday night with State Radio lighting up the Which Stage after MMJ/Incubus on Thursday. And Braddigan and Pete Francis each getting their own midday tent shows. Really when Dispatch comes back again, I feel like they will do some sort of festival of their own for some sort of benefit.
I thought this to be a joke....I think I finally concluded that it isn't

I don't know about them all being headliners necessarily, but here are my big name guesses for '09.
AC/DC as the heavy headliner. The Dead - Duh. MMJ again unless they need a break from touring. Weezer afternoon on the which stage. WSP last band on Sunday. The Stooges - afternoon tent show Phish if they are touring by then of course.
Smashing Pumpkins (saw them recently in a small venue. they covered Set The Controls by Pink Floyd... this cover felt like a rehearsal for a festival environment)
I don't hate the Pumpkins, but ^^^THAT^^^ sounds like a terrible nightmare to me ...just my opinion
I threw a snapple bottle at smashing pumpkins when billy what's his ego started telling the crowd how they were more importatn than the Beatles. They sucked live. They had a reputation for being an unbearably awefull live band for years before they broke and he lectured the crowed with pomposity on top of it. Screw them.
Oh yeah. Scum bags like that have no business covering Floyd.

I'm not really into hip hop but I love the idea of bringing back another hip hop act. Just not one similar to Kanye - that was awful. Beasties would kill the place. Jay-Z would be awesome too.. especially if The Roots were the band behind him. Can you imagine the sickness of that? I saw someone mention Lil Wayne as well. I highly doubt that it would ever happen but it would be nuts. Outkast would blow s**t up too. Any of those acts would be great for the hip hop slot.
Going with the "heavy Friday" theme, I would love to see RATM, Muse, TMV, Tool, or NIN. Any one of those would be a sheer mind quack.
I think, if not this year, My Morning Jacket headlines next year. They could for sure pull it off. Jim James is a madman.
Arcade Fire would be perfect for a Thursday/late Friday night set.
Of course, who wouldn't want to see the Led or Floyd show up?
