Oh great thread idea, I'm definitely building a huge list of artists to listen to lots before 'roo time! Unfortunately I have nothing to contribute because I am horrible at these comparisons, but I just wanted to say thanks for the thread!
Vampire Weekend (kind of reggae-esque indie... cool, though.) Sharon Jones (AWESOME soul music... can't wait to catch her set.) MGMT (seems like some fun... can't really pass judgement yet.) Ladytron (opened for NIN, and I trust Trent, but this is potentially a pretty cool late night set) !!! (Diggin' it... now I see what everyone's been saying. Just check it out.) Ghostland Observatory ( weird stuff... like Kraftwerk meets... dude, I dunno.... more modern indie? Cool stuff, none the less.)
I also hate to bash, but I can't even listen to OAR anymore without wanting to puke. If you're in high school and in the christian group, Young Life, you already like OAR.
the battles are getting alot of props. time for me download.
' You owe it to yourself, Becca. It's awesome... this is the closest thing to a true to god experimental rock act this year... and the album Mirrored is f'n awesome (thanks to Steveternal for notifying me of this band and album).

this thread rules. soul shining in rainbows and the soft bulletin are my two favorite cds atm. this thread has got me excited about MGMT and the fiery furnaces

If you like to think about what would happen if Jimi Hendrix managed to produce and offspring with the Black Keys then you might like Back Door Slam ;D
and for the record, I dig OAR.
...aw hell, I like beer pong too though. Should I just go ahead and find a collared shirt to wear?
