when they announce the next lineup addition, i would love to hear something about how thursday will be this year, will there be more bands? will music start earlier? will they use all of the stages? would this mean the process of getting people onto the farm would start early? i want a lot more bands to be added, but i'd like some other new info for the fest as a whole, and i like the idea of the battle of the bands, i play acoustic guitar and piano, i don't have a band, but i'm thinking of submitting for a chance to play on the sonic stage, anyone else thinking of entering this contest?
Newton Faulkner is now listed as playing the Thursday (6/12) on his MySpace, which is believable because he's travelling all the way to the Isle of Wright Festival on 6/15.
When are we thinking the schedule will be released? It has been mid-May in years past I think, but cannot remember exactly... Anyone have prior years dates?
hmmm Ben Sollee the awesome celloist/ singer who also is in the Sparrow Quartet, has the Sparrow Quartet listed for Saturday on his myspace, but then has all three other dates for Bonnaroo listed as well, but that's just as him self, not with the Sparrow Quartet.
I think he'll be a Cafe add, and my guess is he'll be guesting with a bunch of folks.

So I've begun working on a rough draft of how the schedule might turn out in my mind. I've used the info we already have on some of the artists for the days they are already scheduled and for the ones not yet announced I have placed where it seems they might fit. I've even put in some artists that are heavily rumored at this point but not yet announced. I'm simply doing this for my enjoyment, I know it's not going to turn out accurate but it also helps me think of what conflicts may come up and who I should see and who I don't want to see, placing importance on who I'd rather see more. If you'd like to submit your own ideas to my schedule grid, please let me know. Maybe we could make one version, where everyone can submit their input. And the way that I listed them isn't the order they would play. I tried to list them in the order in which I thought their popularity might be. Here's what I came up with:
Thursday This-Battles, MGMT, The Sword That-State Radio, Steel Train, Vampire Weekend Other-Dark Star, Felice Bros, Grupo Fantasma, Back Door Slam Troo Music Lounge-Phonograph, Amy LaVere, Newton Faulkner

I went down to the mountain, I was drinking some wine, Looked up in the heavens lord I saw a mighty sign, Writtn fire across the heaven, plain as black and white; Get prepared, theres gonna be a party tonight.
Uhuh, hey! saturday night! Yeh, uhuh one more saturday night, Hey saturday night!
Everybodys dancin down the local armory With a basement full of dynamite and live artillery. The temperature keeps risin, everybody gittin high; Come the rockin stroke of midnite, the whole place gonna fly.
Uhuh, hey! saturday night! Yeh, uhuh one more saturday night, Hey saturday night!
Turn on channel six, the president comes on the news, Says, I get no satisfaction, thats why I sing the blues. His wife say dont get crazy, lord, you know just what to do, Crank up that old victrola, put on them rockin shoes.
Uhuh, hey! saturday night! Yeh, uhuh one more saturday night, Hey saturday night!
Then God way up in heaven, for whatever it was worth, Thought hed have a big old party, thought hed call it planet earth. Dont worry about tomorrow, lord, youll know it when it comes, When the rock and roll music meets the risin sun.

I don't think Tiesto will start until at least 1:30...kinda like how Sasha & Digweed ran later than everyone else. I think he might have MSTRKRFT of Chromeo before him for his late-night....

Saturday late-night is going to be conflicts of epic proportions, though for me the whole day looks bad. I'm disappointed; I'd rather my favorites be spread out more.

Are there detailed show times and locations posted all over the farm or is there soome other way of disseminatin the schedule?
When you go through the "toll booth" and show your ticket, get strip-searched and get your wrist-band, they'll give you a guide book that has the schedule inside.
my guess is that it's a pretty unlikely scenario; i think the Allman Bros will open for PJ on the main stage and Kanye will play, in opposition to the ABB on the other main stage.
This kinda sucks for me because it means in order to get a good spot for PJ I'll have to miss Kanye.
^ I dunno about Kanye, but if you check the schedule on page 1 of this thread, Thursday and Saturday are already full (unless multiple acts listed for Saturday are for the cafe, or they're going to expand Thursday). There are still a bunch of bands to be confirmed for either friday or sunday, too...this is a seriously deep lineup. I'm stoked to see the schedule, even though I know they're going to break my heart with the conflicts.
