oh yeah greenwood kicks ass too... he maybe technically better than barber... though barber has some sick classical music training and is truly a jazz band leader

Top 3 Bass players- Rob Derhak- moe. Victor Wooten-Flecktones Claypool -Oysterhead/FancyBand
Top 3 guitarists- Jake Cinninger-Umphreys McGee Buddy Guy and a toss up between jonny greenwood - radiohead and john scofield-phil and friends(two totally different guitarists but equally talented) just my opinions though.......
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
I know its all subjective but the top 3 have got to be:
Buddy Guy Frisell Scofield
I dont even think trey would try and agrue that he is a better guitarist then any of those guys. Those 3 are definitly in the top 10 best living guitarists still alive and there comin to roo.
Buddy Guy Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek) Johnny Greenwood (Radiohead)
Trey would blow Watkins out of the water anyday... but on the subject of SW I was at a nickel creek concert once... i waited to get front row. In the middle of the show he lost a peg to his guitar, and I caught it and returned it... so in a way I got to meet him while on stage... I guess...
Good... because at the Beale St. Fest this year I had a conversation from a distance with Yonder Mountain meaning I said good job and they smiled and said thanks... but I sortof met them too.

Saw Bill Frisell tonight at Yoshi's in Oakland. He's a guitar deity, as is Buddy Guy, so it's a tough choice. I take back what I said before though... you have to be on the left side to watch him play. Bill played with his back turned most of the time but was great as usually.
