I think Saturday 5:30-7:45 is massive. Beck, Cypresss Hill, Claypool, and Medeski Martin and Wood. 4 bands that could have easily been late night, and are all squeezed into a 90 minute timeslot. And you also have Blues Traveler in there, which would be nice to see a chunk of as well. This is, to me, by far the worst conflict. The Friday Late night is a huge conflict as well, but you have some time to move around in there, so that conflict doesn't bug me as much.
I'll probably be splitting time between Beck and Claypool with a sprinkling of Cypress HIll thrown in.
Beck and Claypool is the biggest problem for us. We're going to stay at Beck though. My boyfriend gets to make up for it and go see Les in Atlanta in July, but I can't go.
the saturday bungle is bad. mmw vs. beck is no good at all. lyrics born and umph/bisco sucks. bill frisell and buddy guy is horrible. a thursday and a sunday latenight could have solved alot of these problems. hopefully the preservation hall show goes all night on thursday
im gonna miss rusted root which sucks. but ill see them 2 weeks later at grateful fest so its easier to take

same time slot for me as well. i'm prolly going for the beck/les combo b/c i've never seen beck and i'm interested to see what les pulls out with this lineup. i can go without cypress hill and blues traveler for i have seem them before(actually blues traveler is playing here tonight). i've also seen mmw a bunch, but it wasn't easy to decide to cut them out...
that's essentially what I'm thinking, gsus. I've seen MMW plenty. Only issue is if Scofield shows up and then it'll have been a serious mistake to skip them. and then Cypress Hill is one of the bands I've always said, "I'll catch 'em if I can." So If I don't make it I'm not that bummed out. Blues Traveler isn't high on my list. I just haven't seen 'em in like 10 years. Last time I saw them Popper was fat. But against two of my favorite solo artists currently touring, well, it's kind of a no brainer.

Same here. I'm cutting out MMW to see Beck for the first time, and I need to see what Les is doin too. Maybe MMW will come for Detroit's jazzfest again.
I happy this is my only conflict though, I can make everything else work.

The thing about Beck is that I have a recording of his performance at Vegoose, and most of the songs sounds pretty much the same as they do in his albums. But still... Being up front with all that energy and the fact that I haven't seen Beck before...
But then Cypress Hill would be insane.
So would Les and his band.
So would MMW.
Lots of jumping around will come into play methinks.
BASURA! MMW against Les Claypool? What the fuck were they thinking? And throw in Beck as well. I mean, was ANYONE at all only gonna see one of those three?
the schedule kind of worked out well for me...other than...Cat Power v.s. Bright Eyes (will probably go with Bright Eyes if he's playing I'm wide awake material)....and the big one for me is sunday's Son Volt v.s. the streets v.s. Malkmus...was really looking forward to all three...I'll probably hop around here....
but the biggest conflict i envision will be music v.s. eating/sleeping...man i wish i was a plant so i could capitalize on the whole photosynthesis thing for roo
The schedule worked out excellent for me as well. My biggest conflict is CYHSY veering into Costello, and I've already seen Clap Your Hands so it's not much of a concern.
I love the huge 5:30-7:30ish conflict. Makes it easier for me to get a good spot for Beck!
So far the biggest conflict for me crops up on Friday.
First the Late Night lineup is kicking my ass. MMJ vs. the hip/hop tent vs. Ump/Disco. Then there's the DCFC vs. Oysterhead vs. Robert Randolph & the Family Band. The late night goes long enough for me to hop from one tent to the other, but the latter dilemma might end up being resolved by crowd issues. I have a feeling indie kids will go DCFC and jamhead will go with Oysterhead. So I might go with Robert Randolph just cause it could be a more intimate setting.
On Saturday, I'm hoping that Damian Marley's running behind so I can catch more of his set coming from Amadou & Mariam. I've heard great things about his live show, but if I miss it, I won't beat myself up too bad. Amadou & Mariam are at the top of my list.
and the big one for me is sunday's Son Volt v.s. the streets v.s. Malkmus...was really looking forward to all three...I'll probably hop around here....
I'll probably go for the Streets than catch the second half of Malkmus. Son Volt's playing ACL so I'll catch them there....
However, I haven't decided what to do about Sonic Youth vs. Steve Earle vs. Lewis Black.

Steel Pulse vs. Bright Eyes Death Cab vs Oyster Head Common/Blackalicious vs. My Morning Jacket Beck vs. Cypress Hill vs. Claypool The Streets vs. Stephen Malkmus vs. Son Volt Atmosphere vs. Sonic Youth
I'm going to be doing a lot of running around and missing parts of sets.

A & M vs. Jr. Gong might be the one that will be the most difficult for me.
Friday Late Night is brutal, but we've had a pretty good idea what that would look like for a while now. I really didn't expect Common to be mixed in with the Quannum guys, but that will make it easier for me to pry myself away from the front of the stage once I get a good dose of LB.
For me the Saturday night problem is Beck vs. Cypress Hill vs. prime Radiohead real estate. I did forget about Scofield though, which brings seeing MMW for the zillionth time into play.
I was pleasently surprised with the rather few amount of conflicts i seem to have.
1. Seu Jorge vs Donovon Frankenreiter 2. Ramble Dove vs G Love 3. Soulive vs Refugee All-Stars
Being there are only about 15 bands I would not want to see that leaves everything a conflict but these 3 are the ones that really make it hard. Latenight not a big problem since all the band have huge set times. Im in disagreement with some because i believe sat. latenight has the potential to be the greatest in bonnaroo history.
This is a weird one, but Sonic Youth vs. Bonnie Raitt is probably the worst for me. I really want to see both and probably wouldnt see either outside of Roo... plus the g/f is all about Raitt and I want my indie/punk guitarness...
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
My biggest? Devendra Banhart vs Seu Jorge vs Ben Folds.
I'm with you on that one. I'll start out at Seu Jorge, and if he has a big funk sound going I'll be tempted to stay. Along with Stephen Malkmus, Devandra Banhart was the (non-late night or headlining) artist I most wanted to catch the whole set of. That probably won't happen at this point. I'll probably go for 1/2 hour of Seu Jorge, 1/2 of Ben Folds and 45 min. of Devandra Banhart, but I'll let the energy of the sets decide in the end.
Skaggs vs. Oysterhead Buddy Guy vs. Lewis Black Beck vs. Les Claypool vs. Cypress Hill Refugee Allstars of Sierra Leone vs. deadboy and the Elephantmen Bela Fleck & the Flecktones vs. Matisyahu vs. The Streets Steve Earle vs. Atmosphere
Looks like I had a lot more conflicts than I thought. I could miss Claypool because I'll see him on the 1st of June and I could take Steve Earle for my blugrass fix as opposed to Skaggs. But really I'm just going to let the music take control of me and decide for me.
