Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Try and root the guesses in some sort of possibility (like tour schedule or trivia) and not just hope. I think there is more logic to Superfly choices and negotiations than we give them credit for, and there are distinct patterns between the Roo's.
So with that, what are some guesses we could make for these last two rounds?
I'll start: Who is one of the only ATO Records artist to NOT play Roo so far? David Gray... Maybe he's gotten too big, but he would be an interesting night act or day tent if he wouldn't mind the smaller crowd (which he probably wouldn't). And what about Patty Griffin?
Also- everyone heard of the Replacements getting back together, right?
ALO has a nice hole in their tour with Dave Matthews that could lend to at least a stop-in as a guest... Dave as a guest? Sure. But I'd rather get ALO for the 18th as well. Swing on by before NC guys!
OK- definitely wild, but fans of this band would tell you that they put on loooooooong improvisation concerts full of spacey-jam goodness (that defies their more radio-sensibilities of the past): The Dandy Warhols.
They have time for a Roo date before their tour and they've hinted at seeing U.S. fans at festivals this summer... Hmmm?
Roo already has the Avett Bros. coming, but they've been touring with Tom Maxwell and Ken Mosher (who tour as Maxwell/Mosher)... Tom Maxwell is a genius and Ken's an instrumentalist, so pick your poison, they are both great. Yes, yes, they are known for having been in Squirrel Nut Zippers back when they were actually good (Tom wrote all the songs you like).
Anyway. Maxwell/Mosher are popping around NC in support of the Avett, but have a gaping hole in a certain weekend in June. With Tom's NOLA connections this could get pretty. Maxwell/Mosher in the Preservation Hall tent? Could happen....
weSkew i'm giving you a karma point for that one. TVOTR would be an awsome band to have at bonnaroo, I have a feeling they will play next year. I'm planning on going to see them on June 6 at the Verizon Ampitheatre in Pelham, Alabama. Only thing is their opening for NIN, so i don't know if their set will be as strong and as long as a regular show of theirs.
How about Quasi? Another great band, with a great new indie album and very well respected among fans, critics and artists alike. A perfect match for Roo.
weSkew or anyone whos a Tv on the R fan, do you know whats up with their website? Is it under construction or what? All it shows is a cookie looking thing throwing cookies in a big pile of cookies while walking back and forth over and over again.
I have no idea at all man, I've visited and re-visited that thing hoping it would be more than what it is... and the meta tags suggest it is or will be at some point...
Another one on this beautiful day in the mountains of Virginia, only one summer band comes to mind:
Everything.
Written off by many due to the popularity of "Hooch" - if you've seen them live you know they bring a lot to the table and just missed the "jam" moniker by seconds.
Well they just released a new album on iTunes this week and are pulling the touring pants back on. Roo would be a perfect venue for them to make a big return. But have they missed the boat?

I think once it gets a little closer to the release of their new album its going to relaunch. And the animation has to do with the name of the album "Return to Cookie Mountain"
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
Another band, in the similar vein? Agents of Good Roots. I LOVED AGR, I thought they would eventually hit it pretty big. I know they are playing shows again, they'd be a great add, even as like a cafe band.
I'm a big AGR fan. They are from my area too. They would be a great add.
How about some high-guitar/euro-jam/space/electronic maestros?
Let's look at the Cooper Temple Clause... They're done with a UK tour two weeks before and could fly on over (Hell, if the Frames could fly in from Ireland the night before, anything is possible) and CTC could use the American exposure to their great live act.
We all know (or should know) that Superfly often watches industry events like SXSW and even Coachella for up-and-coming acts that can help blow the flaps off of Roo. So with that in mind (and my own like for their work); how about: The Go! Team
Agreed....the Go! Team would be a sweet late-nite addition. Been screamin' that since day one.
On another note, the Black Keys were just announced as the opening act on Radiohead's N.A. dates leading up to Bonnaroo....here's hoping they get added.

Hmmm... It'd have to be Thursday or Friday for them... but what a juicy possibility.
Official: Glen Phillips will NOT be at Roo. I was fortunate enough to get an answer from him myself. But i think he'd be great for future years, so write your congressmen.
