we've done favorites, who are your least favorite acts on the lineup? the acts you think you'd actually have a bad time seeing.
I know this is crazy but: Thundercat. I saw him 2 years ago and you can barely hear the undoubtedly amazing things he's doing on bass because of the mixing. And it's all polyrhythms so there's nothing to grab on to for dancing. I won't be there.
love how hard she's leaning into the theatrics/camp of it all. honestly might be my #1.
I'm literally speechless. I get that there is a draw for pop fans and drag fans (though I think they were born a woman and it's an identity character). She has a nice voice, and some of her band seems to have talent. But there wasn't anything musical that caught my attention. Y'all should dress up for this set, but I'm not going to be there. Guessing she could lead the pride parade which might make sense.
Upcoming Shows: 5/15 - They Might Be Giants @ Madison Theater 6/2 - Pigeons PPP/Andy Frasco/Dogs in a Pile @ MEGACORP Pavilion 6/5 - Pixies/Modest Mouse/Cat Power @ Andrew J. Brady Center 6/13-6/16 - Bonnaroo 7/25 - Foo Fighters/Pretenders @ Great American Ballpark 7/26 - Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew: Remain In Light @ Bogart's 7/28 - Brett Goldstein @ Taft Theatre 8/4 - Phish @ Deer Creek Music Center 8/17 - The Jayhawks @ Memorial Hall

These are basically alternate versions of her sparkle soaked dance pop songs. It's not for everyone, but it is immensely fun. Seeing her for the second time tonight and my 'fit is absurd
we've done favorites, who are your least favorite acts on the lineup? the acts you think you'd actually have a bad time seeing.
There are many of these acts. My who I'm unexcited for is more than half the lineup. I'm going to have to look to see who I think I'd have a bad time at. Obviously about all the house EDM since the type of house Bonnaroo mostly has bores me (not including Fred in this subset yet). I haven't worked up a Bottom 10 since I'm still waiting for the schedule to look up about 20 acts. For now, the shit I'd for sure have a bad time at:
Seven Lions (wimpy)
Two Friends (lame af)
Carly Rae Jepsen (incredible how many people are excited for this)
Disco Lines (did not like)
Veggi (the few minutes of his plant-based grooves I could stomach before having abdominal discomfort made this as kitschy as stupid shit like Trippie Redd or Slushi). Like you can't be a character and expect anyone with a brain to respect you musically if it's that much of a bit to fit an "identity")
Svdden Death - Wasted enough time and money seeing him already.

Yeah, y'all's generation's attachment to the ironic and/or absurd always trips me out. I don't like dance pop and haven't since before I hit puberty. But have at it, and I hope you have a good time.

in Chappel Roan’s case its also definitely that her music is specifically made for young queer, specifically sapphic, people. I wouldnt expect an older dude to love her music lol

Fair. My daughter is all into that scene because so many of her friends are lgbtq. They were at Jimbo the Clown earlier in the week. I don't know what sapphic means, so I'm going to have to look that up. if it's anywhere close to meeting at the middle, she told me I need to see Ethel Cain with her and I have very limited experience with her outside of a song or two I watched.

I didn't intend on seeing Meg at Coachella but I just went with the flow of the crowd after Flume and got pretty close and it was really fun even though I only knew like one song.

I'm an older dude, and I'm really looking forward to her set.

Svdden Death - Wasted enough time and money seeing him already.
As the only one on this board reping Veggie, it's funny that you're the only one voicing your displeasure. Cheers!

I watched some videos and the graphics were often vegetable related like slushi had the blue hair and drank slushies but they’re spectrum. I didn’t care for the music either but maybe I’ll see you there as the other person besides you and the ole lady.
