Everyone in my group immediately commented on the Gobi being smaller this year. Curious what the thought was there, although outside of Barry Can’t Swim it didn’t seem to be a problem.
This was my 10th year of Coachella and 12th weekend on the fields. Another magical year. It really never fails to deliver. Saw so many incredible sets of music and loved the new Quasar stage - I stayed for most of the 4 hour b3b despite having other acts I wanted to see. No Doubt blew me away. Logistics were smoother this year compared to 2022 and 2023. Can’t wait for 2025!
1. No Doubt 2. Sublime 3. Anti Up 4. Vampire Weekend 5. Charlotte de Witte 6. Justice 7. Jamie XX x Floating Points x Daphni 8. John Summit 9. L’Imperatrice 10. Bleachers
Funny because I felt like the Gobi got smaller in 2022. I didn't go that year but remember watching the livestream and being like "wow they made the tent way smaller". The only things that felt different this year were the raised roof and that back panel but the size felt the same to me. I think this was mostly a good thing because there were years like 2017 (when Gobi and Mojave were essentially the same size) where the Gobi would feel absolutely pathetic if the set was under attended. Flip side, a Barry Can't Swim debacle.
The one where I had to squint and say "did that get smaller?" for me this year was the Mojave, not the Gobi. And that tent definitely had a bunch of packed sets. Harder to tell what overflows from the guest area, but I know I couldn't get anywhere near the guest area for Victoria Monet which was surprising to me, there was an enormous line and that tent was beyond overflowing W2.
I was gonna say, the Mojave seemed slightly smaller too but not as pronounced as the Gobi. I’m curious if they “shrank” some of the tents due to the lower sales to make they still feel packed with less people.
Cudi cancelled his whole tour cause of the type of break he suffered. Ouch
weren't people saying this tour was gonna get cancelled anyway due to poor sales? what are the chances he broke that ankle on purpose to save face?? LOLLLLL

I saw that fall on Twitter and that was not on purpose lol. He's lucky to have only broken his foot(/leg)

The insurance company when they saw he broke his heel
I have to say the spread at the coachella artist catering is fantastic. There's like 8 different types of tea, multiple different types of food bars like Sandwiches, pokie bowls, pizza, pasta. I was pretty impressed when I got a steak mealf from cartering.

Bruh I called it the day that tour got announced on here
I hope this becomes a running lineup slot for speculation like RTTD. Who do we think is going to be the one next year to play a guest slot as a way to fake an injury to cancel a badly selling arena tour?
J-Lo's team has to be pissed they didn't think of this idea first.
Glad you all are bringing up the gobi because my wife and I thought it looked tiny compared to previous years. The sound booth was pushed all the way to the back of the tent and overall it seemed like the back of it was cut by 50 yards or so.
Almost bought a No Doubt poster during Matt Taylor’s sale today just to trade for a shirt and decided against it. I have wayyy to many posters at this point. Just hoping No Doubt adds merch to their site.

Shipping being $35 wouldve been enough to say no. I have bought an artist proof before at a similar price point and was not charged that much to have it shipped.
we should all ask Martin Phillips if he thinks that Quasar is ripping off his Daft Punk pyramid stage design.
I agree that the Palm tress and the ambient visual vibe they had was cool. But to me for the most part was kind of a yawn fest.
Who are realistic extended sets for Quasar for 2025? I’m struggling to think of which DJs are big enough in the US to warrant this
Solomon, Martinez Bros, Detroit Love, Kaskade (redux), and Carl Cox are the immediate names to come to mind for myself but I’m curious what we should expect from this stage next year. Maybe an Ed Banger day?

Armin Van Buuren can easily do 4 hours of trance. Get Sasha and Digweed out of the Yuma and give em the time they would warrant. Tiesto doing a throwback set would get a crowd.
Saw this post on the Outside Lands sub claiming 95k W1 and 82k W2. Obviously no idea if it's accurate or not, but thought it was interesting with all the crowd size discussions.

Not sure if I'll have time to make a Quasar poster with my mock next week but if not, I would go...
W1 FRI - Carl Cox x Anfisa Letyago SAT - Disclosure (DJ Set) SUN - Black Coffee x Idris Elba
W2 FRI - Skrillex x Boys Noize SAT - James Blake x Ben UFO SUN - Above & Beyond (Deep Set)

Idt Sasha and digweed is big enough sadly.
Tiesto for sure- he’s doing a 4 hour set outdoors in nyc in October, at almost exactly the same time of day

I say throw in the Dewaele brothers and James Murphy just so we can get Despacio back (and Soulwax closing our Mojave again)

Its not like Mall Grab had half the festival there when they were on.

After about two weeks I think these were my favorite sets of Weekend 1: 1. Orbital - Masters of their craft. I have seen Orbital a couple times now and every time it is just a next level experience. 2. Justice - Lived up to all the hype and high expectations. Glad I showed up early and grabbed a sick spot. Excited to see the dark version of the set at iii Points. 3. RAYE - This woman must be protected at all costs. Loved everything about her set, she is incredible live, and I can't wait till she does an Outdoor Orchestra set in a few years. 4. Chappell Roan - She is going to be star and I am very glad I got to experience that Gobi set as she is going to be big next album cycle. 5. Jersey - Surprise set of the weekend. An absolute party, my friends and I were getting Fred Again flashbacks from 2022, and they should be on every electronic music fans radar if you enjoy Frenchmen with synths. 6. Tems - Beautiful set, she is criminally underrated (I will say I was impressed at how packed the Mojave got), and she had one of the biggest surprises of the weekend I don't think anyone expected a JB pop up. 7. CDW - I was planning on splitting this set initially and about 5 min into it I realized that was not happening. That Overdrive rig was sick. 8. Tinashe - Super fun set, you could tell she was super glad to finally be performing, and I am very excited for the follow up to BB/Angel. 9. Brutalismus 3000 - Hedonistic set of the weekend such a fun time it felt like everyone was just dancing like crazy. Controversially after this set and CDW, Gesa was a huge let down imo. 10. Victoria Monet - Had high expectations for this set and she met them. This set really had everything going for it and I converted a few friends into fans.
I saw Charlotte last year and it was meh all around for my taste. Easily in the bottom half of the Techno shows I saw last year. Wouldn’t recommend her show being prioritized over a ton of other great acts on Saturday!
I have to say this was a miss from you. I'm glad my friend ended up steering us to her set. It was fucking great.
I know this isn't an accurate source, but the pedi cab guy we took on day 3 said Weekend 2 seemed busier than Weekend 1.
Also believe weekend 2 gets an older crowd overall, more likely to prefer/need a ride by the end of the night ha.
What makes you say this? It seems like most of r/Coachella goes W2 and so many of them seem young and unprepared. I know that's anecdotal though, so just wondering.
