New Drake is pretty great. Kinda hoping he headlines:
Am I crazy to think that at this point Drake is a budget-murderer the level of a Radiohead, Pearl Jam, or McCartney?
tbh I dont think Radiohead is that level of budget murderer, I think they dont play more festivals because they just dont want to play more festivals not because they are trying to drive up prices

I wouldn’t be shocked to see Mumford & Sons as one of the headliners. They said they’d be announcing more gigs for this year in the coming months. Lately, they have done those one to two week run of shows in the U.S. between a festival appearance or two and this seems like the fest this year. Don’t be surprised.
6/9: Gary Clark Jr.? 6/23: Brittany Howard? 7/13: elrow 7/20: Mt. Joy 7/28: Justice 7/31: Romy 8/2: The Marias? 8/18: Mitski? 8/19: Taylor Swift 8/23: Crumb? 8/29: Pearl Jam? 9/5: L'Impératrice 9/7: Bruce Springsteen? 9/12: Pearl Jam? 9/23: Khruangbin 9/26: Charli XCX/Troye Sivan? 9/28-9/29: All Things Go 9/30: Vampire Weekend 10/4-10/6: ACL?
Bowery Presents/AEG produced show though. But we'll see. Who knows what her deal for that was.
Ahh yeah wasn't thinking of that. I'm predicting 2 nights at BK Steel or maybe Prospect Park or Summerstage. Would be the right kind of rock act for Meadows though
Just announced a show at Prospect Park. So def out.

Okay so we're thinking 9/15 thru the 17th for Gambino are open for a potential multi-night run at the Garden, and not for a headlining spot here... right?

Childish Gambino would be an excellent idea though an MSG show would definitely detract from ticket sales. Also, a repeat of Chromeo (even though they have a T5 show in June) would be awesome since I'm going see Alt-J the day the play T5 (and thus expect festival bookers to cater to me personally).

Isn't this pretty concerning for Founders? If Gambino plays Fri/Sat at MSG that's approx 32,000 NY hip-hop fans who will have already bought tickets and planned to go to his show instead of The Meadows. Gotta think it will hurt day passes and especially 3 days.
I think it would be cool to go back to the last weekend in September and focus on 2 days, but doubt they're going to do that.
Can't tell if this is "go to Gambino show because The Meadows is a diff weekend" or "go to the Gambino show because the Friday night Meadows headliner stinks". Probably the former.

Maybe I just want friends to hang out with me at Gambino.
Speaking of King's Theater, Beach House just announced a date there (as well as United Palace). King's seems to be far more preferable given the layout, space and location but both should be a great place to see Beach House.

Bumpity bump. The more I look at Grandoozy the more I wonder what's going on with this back home
I'm just really curious where this is going to be. Forest Park is my out-of-the-blue guess right now. Astoria Park would be great but it's not huge so they'd have to scale it back.

Way, way back. Plus, there are homes that border the park, without any major division that would separate the fest grounds from a place where people live and go about their day-to-day lives. I doubt the city would allow it.
