Has anyone gone to the Preakness and/or been on the infield for the concerts before? I'm assuming it veers towards frat party, which is honestly not totally uninteresting given $110 for all-you-can-drink + music + race betting...
while I dont like Post Malone at all and only Odesza a bit, thats a pretty great deal for people that do considering all of Post's shows are pretty much sold out and Odesza sold The Anthem very well this fall

You basically nailed it on the head. Just a sea of drunk college students and very recently former college students.
I won't be able to make the drive up to D.C. tomorrow for Lorde/RTJ/Mitzki, so I'm selling my (one) ticket for face value ($100). PM me if interested.

On a side note, anyone have an idea how Beach House at Anthem is selling? I've already got my ticket, but I was hoping they'd add another show or maybe a surprise Baltimore show early in the tour. I'm also going to the Raleigh show, but the rest of the tour is a bit out of reach for me.

I wouldn't expect too many big names as it's mostly local artists. Predominately Go-Go and Funk, but many other genres represented as well. Here's a list of last years artists poster: parkviewdc.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/funk-parade.jpg. Here is last years schedule with only some of the stages, lots of other pop up stages and events with local DJ's n stuff (https://www.funkparade.com/set-times-activations/). The parade itself is a little taste of New Orleans on U St and lasts about an hour. The DC Funk Parade activities run from Noon - 7pm, and then the after parties begin at venues all over the U St. corridor. It's just a good excuse to get out and day drink and interact with people from all over the area. Tons of vendors/food/activities etc. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been before and the weather is nice.

I have been the a couple times over the past few years. Last year I went to see Aaron Abernathy and Sinkane. Agreed, it's a good time, glad they are bringing it back.

IT'S HAPPENING. Thursday October 25th, with Cigarettes After Sex supporting.
man The Anthem keeps landing amazing acts
It helps that Goldenvoice books acts here as well (which is the case with Nick Cave), because of course there's no way Live Nation would use this place.

IMP had a multi year lawsuit against Live Nation that went to the Circuit court, so I doubt Anthem will be booking a Live Bation tour any time soon.

Random question: is there an official curfew of 11pm at The Anthem? I remember this being the case at LCD Soundsystem back in October, but am not sure if this is always so.
The reason I ask is that I noticed the start time of Nick Cave/Cigarettes After Sex being 8pm, whereas other tour dates have it listed at 7:15pm. Thus, I would hope that if The Anthem does have a later time, that it would not affect the set length versus how long Cave will end up playing in the other cities.

Thanks!
Here's a quote from Dave Grohl in this article. No idea if that's true, but if anyone would know, it would be Seth Hurwitz.
"Here's the problem. We have a lot of f*cking songs! I asked Seth [Hurwitz] earlier what is the curfew for this place and he said there is no curfew!"
