I'm really behind on music (even more so than usual), but I was really disappointed with the alt-J album. Their quality went way down when Gwil left. And it's what, 9 songs? If you're gonna release a short-ass album, they all need to be hi-qua.
Looking forward to listening to Planetarium, and I kinda wrote off Jay Z a while ago with his last couple of release, but 4:44 has gotten enough positive reviews that I'm looking forward to listening to it.

Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Thumbs up on Waxahatchee, Broken Social Scene, and Toro y Moi so far.
Need to still listen to Japanese Breakfast, Shabazz, Daphni...what else?
I'd suggest Mammút's Kinder Versions as well. It's a nice indie/art rock album from the Icelandic group and solist's vocals are very Björk-y (similar to The Sugarcubes-era).
I've been busy the past few weeks compiling my list for the top 25 albums of 2017 so far, so I'm a little behind on music for July. However, Japanese Breakfast is my front runner to this point.
Does Quazarz count as 1 album or are they separate? It's wayyyy in the lead for me right now.
Everything I've read on it consistently lists it as two albums that were released the same day rather than as a double album. That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to people voting for them as one release.
I ain't got time is dope. looking like its going to be between TtC and Daphni for me.
What about Arcade Fire? Not a fan?
I am, I just haven't been as into the singles as much as everyone else. Idk maybe when it's all together I'll be more into it. Hot take, but I didn't love Reflektor as much as everyone else either.
I've only been through Daphni once, and still have tons to listen to. But I have a hard time believing anything other than Daphni will end up with my vote.
What am I missing with Daphni? It was a fun, continuous, moderately entertaining dj mix. Sounds like something you might here at a particular type of club and go home saying "that was a fun night" and probably not think much about it again the next day.

Dan Snaith is one of a handful of electronic musicians who seemingly have a direct wire into my brain.
Dan, DJ Koze, Nicolas Jaar, John Talabot and Flying Lotus somehow always produce something that really resonates with me.
Probably just not the type of music that you gravitate towards, nothing wrong with that.
And fuck me, if there was a club around me that played this type of music all the time, I might just live there.

Listening now, totally up my alley Thanks for the rec!

New Tyler album is great. He sort of veered off into something more industrial or alternative with Cherry Bomb but this new one is right on track with Wolf.
So heading into today's releases, I'm still feeling Japanese Breakfast the most. Great album! But I'm about to eat actual breakfast and start attacking these new albums.
I'm coming for you Avey Tare, Lana Del Rey, Tyler the Creator, etc

yeahhh, this is pretty great. Really cohesive. Lana, Avery, NIN on deck. But as is I might be voting this over Daphni.
