I mean the Kanye date definitely sounds iffy, but if bands can play Japan at Fuji Rock the week before Lolla, why can't Kanye play Estonia a week before and then play Lolla the next wknd. Especially since he will most likely close out the whole fest.
Based on Sam Smith's dates, he looks like a lock. No Chicago dates and a mini-gap during wk of Lolla.
I'm still not convinced Lolla would book back-to-back years of double hip-hop headliners. Drake is asking for almost 650,000 for any dates that aren't Toronto, and Kanye wants a 750,000 plus. Then add that Metallca rumor, and geezus that undercard would look dead after maybe the second line. However, I think with Livenation having some of these artists under contract: it won't be as bad as I think.
Calvin and Skrillex played last year, I don't think Pharrell is very likely (just a personal opinion). Smashing Pumpkins are a better fit for Riot Fest. Jack and Robert Plant are possible but Robert Plant is in Germany on July 29th.
Man, that Argentina lineup was so much better than Chicago last year.
Yeah, but didn't a lot of those big names play Lolla Chicago in 2013? Off the top of my head I think NIN, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, New Order and Ellie Goulding were all there.

Ok so based on Pollstar's dates, Kanye has a show set for Brussels on June 25th. He could easily tour a month overseas from Germany to Estonia, and then be done with that part of touring. Maybe Lolla will be the kickoff to his US tour?

Dude you are like the king of posting shit that's already been discussed at length.
Read my post, read the other posts. This is about a date on June 25th. The only confirmed date by publications is July 25th. How am I posting something that's already being discussed? I'm adding to the discussion if anything.
Last year it was late towards the end of March so figure around then. Osheaga is announcing on March 24th so I'd imagine both are announcing right around the same time as they usually have a lot of carry over between the two.
2017 Shows Sam Roberts Band, Wilco, Local Natives, Ryan Adams(!), Chance the Rapper, Future Islands, Frightened Rabbit, TOOL, Field Trip Music Festival, Gary Clark Jr., Arkells w/July Talk, Gorillaz, Tom Petty, Metallica, Muse, Incubus, Lollapalooza (!!!),Kings of Leon, Deep Purple & Alice Cooper, Father John Misty, War on Drugs

Tallest Man on Earth is looking plausible. I assume he'll be filling in a few more dates during his mid-July trip over here, and nothing scheduled in Chicago yet.
The Tallest Man on Earth:

Greg Kot did his headliner leak March 18th last year and then Lolla revealed their full lineup on March 26th. Not much longer to wait!
One of my friend's who knows people in C3, said that Greg Kot really doesn't get along with Livenation. I'll be curious if we get a leak this time around.
It wouldn't really surprise me if the Kot leak stopped, but I do think we'll continue to get leaks in some form. I just think Kot is a good way for them to control what gets leaked. I remember a couple years back they leaked the Chicago lineup on a poster found at one of the SA Lollas.

Not sure if there was any mention of this in here yet but Lolla Berlin announces its lineup March 2nd. Maybe some good indicators on there, and US Lolla coming soon after
It's the same color scheme as last year, Kanye and Rihanna would not happen- separate but not equal. Drake as anything other than a top 3 wouldn't happen. Someone already confirmed Sam smith as a headliner, so he wouldn't be so low. I would take a majority of this undercard, and based on their tour schedules it's possible.
