Friday: Friday is going to be a full day this year, so starting at 11:00 like the other days I might be very wrong about this, but I think Iron and Wine and Ben will close out the Quad, with Calexico preceding them. I also don't see Watkins Family on the main stage I'd put The Lone Bellow in the Watkins spot, spot and then we're missing a preheadliner and headliner Also I'd think Haunt the House would be earlier
Saturday: I also think Courtney would be a little later or on the main stage, but I don't know how I'd switch that one around
Sunday: The main stage tends to go from smaller to bigger, so judging by the order on the website Laura Marling would be after the Felice Brothers. I'm not sure that First Aid Kit would be pre-headliners but it's definitely in the realm of possibility

Disagree with Friday.
I'd say Hiss Golden Messenger -> Heartless Bastards -> Calexico -> Iron & Wine -> Headliner (MMJ?) seems like a slam dunk for indie folk on the main stage on Friday.
Watkins Family Hour seems like a good closer for the Quad (or at least the band before the closer). I'm going with closer because of possibility of special guests and inclusion of Fiona.

This was the other possibility in my mind. I just have this feeling that Iron & Wine won't be a preheadliner. But maybe I'm underestimating his popularity.
But if you can switch out Heartless Bastards for The Lone Bellow, I'd be at the main stage all day. They're about the right level of popularity, right? That was when Shovels & Rope and Dawes played last year.
Also, I have to think one of the last fairly big non-headliner names we'll be getting is The Tallest Man On Earth, where do you guys think he'd fit in?
Sunday headliners. Thoughts? The early thought was The New Basement Tapes... but that's not happening!
More and more convinced it will be James Taylor. He's got a break in his tour, which kicks off again two days later in Tennessee, and as I mentioned Newport recently followed him on Twitter, which they've only done for a couple artists not (yet) announced as playing.

I could see Saturday main stage going Tallest Man on Earth -> Sufjan -> Decemberists.
And then if I'm working from fawn's preliminary schedule, Brandi closing the Quad (or playing later in the day on the Quad).

I would think that Brandi has a much better chance of being on main stage than sufjan. He will probably close out the quad.
James Taylor, OCMS, or Alabama Shakes are my best guesses. But I'm expecting Shakes as the prehedliner and one of those other acts as the headliner.
I guess Paul Simon is a very distant possibility too.
Paul is at the very top of my wish list, although I know he's not very likely. The James Taylor clues are starting to make sense. I think it's too early for OCMS to be back headlining. And I also expect Shakes to pre-headline.

Has Dylan been ruled out?
Nope, Dylan has a wide open gap in his touring schedule from end of July to October
I'm torn between my desire to see good bands multiple times or see someone new. I firmly believe Alabama Shakes will be at September Boston Calling, MMJ are there this month, and both are at Bonnaroo. But they're both phenomenal live acts if we get either of them, we're pretty much guaranteed an amazing performance. I'm also not sure what the other options would be
For Sunday, I think I'd prefer Bob Dylan over James Taylor, though neither are really optimal. I wouldn't mind someone like Willie Nelson, though Paul Simon would clearly be the best they could get.
In non-headliner discussion, have we mentioned Tedeschi Trucks Band? They're in Boston the 22nd and Maine the 24th, but nothing after that until the 29th. And Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings are opening. Both would be great additions.
Guster are playing NYC the 20th, not sure if they'd be a possibility
And if any of you know Lera Lynn, I'd love to see her early in the day

While it's possible, I'd think they would have stated that in the announcement
They didn't say that the decemberists were headliners in that announcement
You're totally right, I was thinking of the email The Decemberists sent out about their tour dates where they said they were headlining. So you could be right.

The only reason I'm curious is because that lineup is getting thick already for the Friday and how heavier can it get at the top. I suppose there could be a headliner still
