Read and listened to recommendations from this thread throughout the course of this week. Thanks to all for the solid suggestions. From last month's albums Lana Del Rey and the Antlers are getting many spins. This month it has been all about Every Time I Die (old favorite that just released their best album to date). Also that horrors album is nice; SZA debut is pretty awesome as well. Happy to be caught up on new music a bit.
Had high hopes for Jungle's album and I think it is good, but not great. For me it starts slow, but really gets going in the back half. I am sure they would put on a great live show.
Eh. I don't want to pay for it (trying to keep my US bank account free from any type of billing). And since I'm living in a foreign country I would have to buy a subscription to allow me to listen to it while overseas. So it's just not worth all the hassle really.
Have you tried using the browser based Spotify with Hola
Straight out shoot out between Manic Street Preachers and Morrissey for me this month. Two of my teenage heroes on form in the same month, pleased and relieved!

I actually just ponied up and bought a VPN. So I can now use my Spotify app again!

I hate to admit this, but I think I'm the only person in America who doesn't get Weird Al's music. I just don't find him funny... and didn't back in the 90's when he was a big deal. I want to like him so bad, too... I love eccentric people.

Naw I'm with ya man. I'm not trying to talk shit but I really can't see how people could legitimately say he has put out a 'good' album. Entertaining? Sure. But I would never listen to Weird Al and think "man this is amazing music". He's talented yes, but his schtick just isn't my thing I guess.

I don't know if I wasn't in the right mood for it, but I wasn't feeling Antemasque at all. So far this month is pretty much a two-horse race between Braid and Sia for me
I've got some catching up to do, but I'm really hoping The Black Angels make this easier for me. To be honest, I probably won't vote this month, I've still got "Sunbathing Animals" on repeat. August is likely to end up with a battle between Spoon and Ty Segall, so I might just recharge the batteries and prepare myself for the monster of a month September is shaping up to be.
