Jesus, did they just add the entire Governor's Ball lineup? Without sources that's pretty useless. Ollo
COS is pretty legit. They don't post something without a source. A lot of those bands are doing firefly too, so it doesn't surprise me that they will be at roo. However Pheonix i didn't see coming!
COS still has Bassnectar as 'Logical'...didn't we rule him out (or didn't he rule himself out)? I don't know how far I would go with 'pretty legit'

You do realize they only have them listed as "Logical" right?
Yes but they must have a reason for adding them. I hope it's not true. I would like to see some fresh new headliners instead of last years repeats. Just going off the latest updates, getting antsy

The reason they added Phoenix, as well as a bunch of other bands, is only because they're playing Governors Ball in NYC the week before Roo.

God,please don't give us fucking Macca AGAIN!
Anything's better than Radiohead, that's for damn sure.
The problem with predicting a festival's lineup this way is that it gives you the freedom to just add whoever the fuck you want without solid reasoning. That takes all the fun out of the prediction process.
"Oh hey, this person is playing this festival this weekend, I would love to see them at that festival next weekend! Rumored!"
A lot of the older "logical" guesses are based on NXNE appearances as well - St. Vincent, Speedy Ortiz and Rhye for example. I don't remember COS being so liberal with their predictions last year.

I agree with you are saying about the COS page this year. Not that these bands will or will not be there but in past years, I dont remember the "source" being linked was just a link to another festivals lineup release and saying it was logical. He is bound to get some right that way but I thought I remember each band listed in the past (right or wrong) with a more specific link as to why. 16 days til we know what we dont know.

Were they "pretty legit" in 2010 when they said Neil Young and Roger Waters were headling?
If they add bands that a lot of people like to a festival a lot of people attend, then more people will visit their site to see what they have to say.
This is true in the short term but if they continually put out blatantly generic information that we dont need to go to the website to see, I (and others) will eventually stop going to the website because there is nothing of value to draw me there.

Just because they are "pretty legit" doesn't make them 100 percent accurate. I've followed COS for 3 yrs and every year they are about 70 percent accurate. To each is own, i was just trying to post the most recent update.

Are you sure you don't work for COS? Kind of off you made an account just to talk about them

"Wouldn't surprise me if they're at Bonnaroo" isn't the same as "logical for an appearance" in my mind. Damon Albarn for example could very likely just be doing a one off NYC appearance. Same with Interpol. Spoon is probably pretty likely for Bonnaroo, but just because they're at Gov Ball doesn't make them "logical." Maybe Capp Dogg doesn't want Britt Daniel back two years in a row, who knows?
. This is bullshit, and you know it horn! What kind of man would he be if he didn't want Britt Daniel every year.
Edited to further avoid the wrath of Delicious Meatball Sub. I shouldn't be so careless with such a touchy subject.

No i wish!!! I made an account to talk about the lineup and leaks. I was just saying just because i said they are pretty legit doesn't make them right all the time that's all.

That might be the case, but after seeing the governors Ball line-up from last year and to have their festival the week before Bonnaroo makes this a decent assumption. Also, like I mentioned one of the guys that puts on Governors Ball had worked for Superfly for a while (and Superfly's office is also in NYC), so I don't see this as an accident that they are able to block book bands and have their tickets on-sale a full month and change before Bonnaroo. There should be a lot of overlap between the two fests again this year.
CoS lost the respect of a lot of us in 2010 when Alex was posting all kinds of made up bull shit on top of not crediting tips that obviously were taken from Inforoo. He was also in the board chatroom hinting at bands that never happened. All for pageviews/clicks.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

The guy in your sig is someone I never want to cross paths with.

This could easily be faked, but some of the other members from the texas threads here can confirm that I've worked in booking for a local fest, got this from a friend of mine who does booking for a few fests. Take it as you will.
