Just spent a good amount of my paycheck on round 2 tickets.
From a rivalry standpoint, Id like to see Philly next round, but we've struggled with the matchup against them this season. NY might be the better matchup for us. And it looks like we'll get Gibbons back and both Sutter and Vitale practiced today.
I think I have to do this too. Cept not for your team.

I feel like Minnesota would be a tougher match for the Hawks, as they are more physical and have stronger D. On the other hand, the Avs are probably the only team with nearly the same potent offence as the Hawks left in the playoffs I'd rather see the Avs because Nathan is a home town boy, and if love to see Duchene heal up and play next round. I don't really have any feelings for the Wild. I'm going with the Sharks. They arnt anymore scummy than the Kings. Both very physical, mean teams. I love me some Drew Doughty, and don't like Thorton much either, but the Sharks have been such a force for so long now, and have only really gone deep once or twice, and never made it to the finals. I feel like this is their year. And Logsn Couture has been one of my favourite non-Habs player for a while. Thing is, both teams have to go to war one more time, while the Ducks are sitting back hoping they destroy each other. I just get the feeling that this is the Ducks cup to lose. Getzlaf and Perry are just such a force. Who ever wins between Sharks and Kings have it pretty tough.
I don't feel like Pittsburgh NYR or Philly have really showed anything to be overly concerned about. All are good teams, but the Pens just havnt been playing like a team, and Fleury is REALLY inconsistent, he still makes big saves and has been playing well overall, but so many soft goals.
I have to look past the Bruins right now, because thinking about the habs losing to the bruins just gives me too much anxiety. Can't wait for game one!
That's exactly why I'd rather play the Wild, the Hawks seem to outplay those physical teams in the playoffs. I think they beat the Wild in 5 games last year if I remember correctly. The Avs have given the Hawks a lot of problems this year. The way you feel about the NYR, PHI, and BOS is the same way I feel about SJ, ANA, and LA. I see either the Hawks or the Avs going to the finals against either BOS or the Habs.

I hope everyone is excited to root for the Rangers this series!
im not sure who I'd rather see win between the Rangers and Pens. But in the interest of not worrying about Crosby and Malkin breaking out and taking over games, I'll go with the Rangers but It's gonna be tough for me to focus on anything else for the next while tho. It's Habs vs Bruins time!

Sidney Crosby is a little shit and is a unifying entity for all non-Penguin NHL fans.

I always thought he complained a little too much, but lately, it's easier to find other reasons to dislike him. That said, he still has the ability to singlehandedly win hockey games, especially with Letang and Malkin floating around out there. Oust that little fucker! This is coming from someone who is basically from his home town.

Canada??
Crosby is from Cole Harbour Nova Scotia. I grew up an hour from there, and lived in Halifax for 5 years, which is 15 minutes from there. He's the toast of the town in them parts.
Also, I would like to submit this for the public record
Also expect the Boston Pizza in Montreal to change their name during the series, if they haven't already.

I don't think Boston had anything named after Montreal to change.

How is Canada going to react when a Canadian basketball team advances further than any Canadian hockey team?

probably not. Boston Pizza is a resturant chain up here in canada. In my town of roughly 80,000 people, there are 2 Boston pizza's, just to give an idea of it's popularity.
I don't see how the Wild can threaten the Hawks. Avs had a horshoe up their butt all year. Wild outplayed them virtually all series. Blackhawks have really only been rolling 3 forward lines so avoiding the altitude is helpful. Ilya Bryzgalov is the reason Hawks should advance.
Chico, I have 2 tickets in row 6 of the 300 level that I haven't been able to sell. Sec 309 row 6 seats 1 and 2 for game 2 on Sunday. They jacked up the prices for round 2 so high there's no resale market. They were 410 for the pair. If you want them you can have them at face value, if not, no biggie.
Yes!! I definitely want them for game 2!!! I was just looking!!
I enjoy watching the greatness that is Crosby. I also enjoy watching Lebron and Tiger Woods for these same reasons.
I like LeBron and Tiger for those reasons as well. Hawks and Pens are in different conferences so I'm not some meathead screaming Cindy Crybaby at the top of my lungs. I do however enjoy watching Fleury let in soft goals.
Yea he's been a joke lately. I'm from MN so we're pretty happy here today!

I dont see how the Hawks can have struggles with Wild, especially with thier goaltending. I already loved Crawford but have an even greater level of respect for him now too. After taking full blame for the loss in game two, he was a stud. The second period of game 6 where he the Hawks were outshot 17-3 and he stoned them to put them in position to win that game in the third was strapping on his big boy pants. To hear Kane admit it took some time to get his legs under him and is improving each day is encouraging that the Hawks could be getting stronger at the right time.
Was so great to see 3 game 7's in one night yesterday. The difference between playoff hockey and regular season hockey is greater than that difference in any other sport.

I would say basketball is second, football and baseball, not so much.
edit: also if we can hold the hawks to 12 shots or whatever like we did vs Col once, that will help us, but not very likely. Still hoping for a more competitive series than last year.

Who do the Raptors play if they beat the Nets? And don't get too cocky over there, there's a reason you owe me a beer at Bonnaroo, and why the habs have won 6 of the last 7 games vs Boston. And you can't use "that's regular season". because these 2 teams always play like it's their last, even in preseason.

Im not sure what Im watching here? Did someone throw a shoe at him?
Crosby has been nonexistent in the playoffs and the Pens have still found ways to win. I cant see his drought lasting too much longer. Its Fleury that Pittsburgh needs to worry about.

crosby broke his stick slashing that dude in the leg. I can't remember if there was a penalty on the play.

yea? so what? that sort of crap happens more than you'd think.
edit: also, i've seen sticks broken making f'n wrist passes, sometimes those things are faulty

Really? People break sticks on their opponents body parts all the time?
No, of course they don't, which is why this gif was made so we could all join hands and hate Sidney Crosby some more.
Sticks don't always break but there is plenty of slashing at the ankles and anybody that disagrees with that has not been watching hockey there whole life. Everybody loves to hate Crosby because he's better than everybody else in the world at hockey.

Yes, people slash all the time, they don't do it away from the play like a little fuckface because you're pissed at the way your game is going, it tends to have something to do with the action. When people do what Sid did, they get called punks and we make fun of them. I've been watching hockey all my life, if that will help you accept my comment better.
