Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
^^^^ Bonz- we were jut hmmmminnng over the intro being written by thirdman..
As I've said here and in different threads- I am not a huge Jack fan, however, the past page or two is wearing me down and getting me a little excited over the possibility. A toned down acoustic set could be QUITE amazing. I don't prefer him because he's too rough and tough for me, but Jack in a folk festival... hmmmm...

Yes! Another act I've been buzzing to see! Can't say he's on my musical bucket list, butan act I've been hoping to see at a festival for a few years now.
Newport is going to turn into Hollywood for a weekend with the star power.
John C Reilly did his own singing for Chicago and has been pretty well regarded as a musical stage actor. He's definitely one of those Renaissance guys.
And I'm more hopeful than ever for Jack White now. Anyone who thinks he wouldn't fit has never listened to his Cold Mountain stuff.
He's got some good "friends" too. Willie Watson is playing with him in this video, and both are scheduled for Saturday. If Jack White ends up headlining, I could see him playing with John C. Reilly as well.
I know that he's signed to Third Man, but I have to say that the first thing I looked at after seeing Third Man mentioned in his introduction on the Newport website was whether or not Jack White wrote it.

While they're comedians both Reilly and Ed Helms are really great musicians. Reilly has done a lot of musical work and I have those 7" singles that someone linked to. They're solid stuff and will be a good show. Ed Helmss' show at Bonnaroo last year (and all his other work at the fest) really impressed me too. I knew he played banjo cuz of the Office but didn't know it was something he was really good at.
Edit: I see you're excited abotu this. Good! I am too. Can't wait. One thing I love about NFF is they do tend to find their own way to make unique/special sets that don't happen everywhere else. This should be a solid one.
There was a post before Fawn's on Facebook that asked about today's announcement and then pointed to the Jack White evidence. It's now gone. Either the original poster deleted it or NFF strategically deleted it.

Yea, was that the one about Jack touring with someone already on the lineup?
wow... and there were several peeps in the now-removed posting that is gone. I read and almost responded that a group of us had a cookie bet on today being Jack. Interesting.
Well, we now know that the social media guy is in. Although it's kind of odd, if there's one thing I've always loved about NFF, it's that they are damn good at keeping everyone informed. They'll respond to requests for certain acts. They usually tell us if there's a hold up on a lineup announcement. So why delete posts? My only thought is that there will be an announcement today and they're waiting until a certain time to make the announcement (end of the day?).
