Sorry this has taken so long. A dear old friend of mine passed away Friday morning after a long battle with cancer.
The campgrounds we'll be staying at are large, well shaded and fairly private. I'll make sure we get sites with electric. Alcohol is allowed so that will not be an issue, but other things are still illegal. As long as we're not stupid with our conduct, which I'm sure we won't, we won't have any problems. I used to work for the Hoosier so I know the concessionaire supervisor and the Tell City district's law enforcement officer. I'm going to talk to my old boss this week so that they know we are coming (and no one gets curious about the large group of out-of-towners).
There is a firewood ban on the Hoosier, but we can bring in pine, other conifer wood, or scrap lumber. Otherwise we will have to collect kindling and buy inspected firewood. If we would want to go out for a meal there is a bar/restaurant down the road that has great food. There are some shorter trails if we want to do a day hike and I'm down for the zip lines if y'all are. If we have enough cell signal we'll FaceTime or video chat with our Northeast campers if they end up doing the same weekend.
I just created a Facebook group for the campout. If I'm not friends with you click here, send me a friend request and I'll add you to the group.

Cool. Going to try and get off work so I can at least stay one of the nights. Terrapin Hill is the weekend before that so taking off two whole weekends in a row may be a bit tough.

Sorry for all of the unanswered questions, I've not been online much the last few days. I tentatively set the date for September 13-15 because that was the dates that worked the best for most of y'all. If we need to change them that's not a problem.
I'm ok with kids tagging along if everyone else is. Just keep in mind that we'll be drinking, etc. I've not yet decided if I'm going to grab spots at Indian-Celina or Tipsaw. That's going to depend on how many people we end up with and how busy the campgrounds may be. If you want to view the location I think you can find it in the links I posted earlier. I'll post a link to the Facebook group when I'm home later this evening.

Looks like I should be able to make this one. I will be traveling back from Canadaland sometime that week, as long as I am back before the weekend I will be there

Copied from my post in the Facebook group for those who may not see it there:
OMG OMG OMG this is next weekend!!! I just realized it's that close! I've taken a hiatus from the interwebs, only checking Facebook about 50% of the time that I've had notifications. Life has been repeatedly throwing shit at me for the last 6 weeks.
As for the campgrounds, reservations were made weeks ago. The total was $170 for two double sites for both nights. I don't expect y'all to cover all of it. I think $3-4 per person per night, depending on how many come. I'll bring all of the wood that is permitted that I can find, otherwise we'll split the cost of purchasing any firewood we'll use. If we all throw in some food and drinks we'll have more than enough to go around.
Can I get a head count of how many are still planning to come and the ages of any kids that will be there? Want to make sure we can plan kid friendly food and activities. Also, how many of you are interested in going zip lining? If we have a group I'll have to let them know in advance we're coming cause I think they can only take groups of 8 at a time.
I apologize for letting the time slip away from me. My attention has been focused on one worry or another lately. It's going to be great to get away from everything for the weekend and hang out with some awesome people! <3
