There may be a couple of trickle acts towards the very end, but most will come all at once, in February this year. For instance, Ed Sharpe was added by itself a few years ago in March.
^ this year has been completely different from the others but in a good way. They've been way more upfront and decisive in their planning and communication which is good but it's also kinda unprecedented so I don't think anyone knows for sure. Paige throughout the idea that they may be waiting until after Roo announces their lineup to add the bands on, but all we know for sure is February. Roo is supposed to announce the 19th I believe so that would be close to a month after the initial Hangout announcement. Makes sense.
The easiest way to keep the bickering down would be to avoid snatching the bait from those trolling. He's trying to rustle some jimmies and it seems to work.
But back on topic, do we have an idea of when additions may be announced? Are there normally a few rounds of additions or do they announce all at one time?
My enjoyment is derived from my deep and everlasting love of the Hangout and all its fans and supporters.
What a nice way to say you think most people in this thread are stupid! And you are right on this account. I hate to be on the side of the bully. There will be very little hip hop or edm added at this point. PL and Zedd are the heavy edm hitters and their are a ton of edm acts on the bill. Hip hop is well represented with outkast, wiz, chance, gambino. This is debatably bigger than last year with kendrick, Mack and public enemy(at the time, not now). With hindsight HMF hit a home run with their hop hop last year.
Look for adds to be more along the lines of what folks have been suggesting- Dawes, local natives types with a edm act or two, some smaller jam. This fest looks set in the top 10 and at the towards the bottom. The fest is a bit weak in the middle right now.

I'm also definitely hoping for some solid mid-tier additions. The line-up is very top heavy and goes from huge acts to either "meh" or "who the hell is that?" in a few lines, save a few.

Given their schedule, 21 Pilots almost makes too much sense. The only thing that would hold it back is the hesitancy to have them return just one year later. But IMO, given the response their performance got, and how much bigger they got in the live scene over the year, it would be an awesome add.
If I honestly had to pick 2 adds that are realistic in terms of cost and where they'd be placed it would be Twenty One Pilots and Umphrey's. Idc if I've seen them before, they're guaranteed great shows.

Not sure anyone is as excited for these guys as I am but Los Colognes updated their "shows" page and now has May 16 for Hangout Fest so it LOOKS like they will be on Friday.

Yeah, that's some chill ish. So we can pretty much chalk in Portugal. The Man/Amos Lee> Avetts> JJ> Headliner as the beach shows? F*** Sunday better be Diarrhea Planet or Reignwolf day if so (will also accept Bloody Beetroots or Andrew W.K.).

if JJ is on Sunday i guess that means its the Killer (probable id imagine) or Black Keys closing it out right? i have no intention of seeing JJ and plan on using that time to post up early to get as close as possible to that headliner

Listen, ne, I'm just not willing to risk losing my life with a killer on the loose while Jack Johnson serenades the unsuspecting Chevy Stage daisies and bubblegumpers.
