I just had a conversation with a colleague who is horrified that we are staying at DTI. "You can't stay there, (said in heavy Junior League Southern accent) you just can't!" Why not? "It's just too, too, sketchy!"
I told her I was going with a group and she insisted that we might, MIGHT be okay in a group. So either I'm going to have a great weekend or get hacked to death in my sleep.
Apparently your reputation precedes you. You sketchy bunch of bastards!
Yeah. Well, that specific one was just a google image search (so it may or may not) but the one I was looking at was Kigurumi. 1karen1 has a bunch of them and swears by them. I've never actually used ebay... maybe I should pop my cherry...
they're great. The only one I have that's really warm is my Giraffe one. My panda and alligator are shorts. And my sloth is just cotton. I think I'm going to get the unicorn one next.
It's totally fine, and most importantly it is CLEAN! If you're expecting a sketchball operation, you'll be disappointed. If you're expecting a fancy joint, you'll be disappointed. They do lock the front doors and check your ID when you get in late at night, though.
But somehow Richard got in...
OMG, this 2 star review is over the top:
Super great staff and awesome location. Overly fluffy pillows that hurt my neck. I made a towel into a pillow so I could sleep - very poor quality sleep. Heat was super loud when it came on.
I have 4 more hours of a work day left today, then I'm off until next Tuesday. Grocery store excursion for beer and drunk munchies tomorrow, packing tomorrow, then hittin the road around 5am Thursday with my friend. I think we're gonna take the scenic route down.

Wait, I'm confused... I thought those pictures were in reference to some other hotel in town I'd never heard of... I know full well about the DTI, I'm the one who spilled the beans to you vultures.

Haha, I was pretty sure you knew, just didn't want newbies/prospective MOEMers to think that's what they were in for
I thought Norman Bates might have clued them in it was a joke.
But we do need to avoid Tony!
This is from TripAdvisor
“Avoid the late-night staff” Reviewed October 21, 2013 NEW Like others have said here, beware the 3rd shift desk attendant, who provided us with the worst "customer service" experience we have ever had. Day staff were friendly, accommodating, and eager to please, particularly Austin. When we returned from our night out to acquire keys for the second room we paid for for friends, we found the front desk unmanned for at least 15 minutes; another group waiting in the lobby said they had been waiting for much longer and eventually gave up and left. We looked around the desk for a way to contact someone. When he appeared, Tony was immediately surly, demanding IDs and eventually announced us all "evicted" for our "attitudes," while we were simply trying to resolve the issue calmly. During this exchange, others entered and he asked for ID; one girl was unable to produce it, but he simply checked her name against his printed list. While we stood there attempting to smooth things over, he called the police on his cell phone, insisting that we "refused to leave" after having been "evicted." He acknowledged to the officers on the phone that we were not hostile or threatening. Our request to speak to the officer on the phone was denied. When the officers arrived, they listened to both sides of the story and somewhat apologetically said he was within his rights to evict us; one of them went with me to collect our belongings from the room we had checked into earlier, while my husband had to beg Tony for management/owner contact info and a receipt for the two rooms we paid for. The officers indicated that this was far from an unusual occurrence for Tony and were nice enough to point us in the direction of other hotels. Our 1am bedtime turned into a 3am bedtime, by the time we concluded this disappointing experience and found another hotel in town.
