ACC pride from fans of teams who were destroyed by FSU is just as senseless as SEC pride from Tennessee fans and/or other currently irrelevant SEC teams. Why take pride in the success of your rivals? You're supposed to dislike your rivals the most.
Shit is going crazy. My FSU family is rocking the house hard after a great win. Do we feel this season is a historic one for FSU? Because these crazy folks here seem to think so...
Undefeated season, Heisman winner, stopped the SEC streak...yeah, I'd say that's historic.
so this is even better than the blow out that I expected. the best SEC team played the best they could possibly play and still got beat.
I'm an auburn fan an I'll admit we got there by luck. If FSU played Bama, Missouri, or Georgia even it would have been that close or they would've lost. Point being FSU dominated everyone in there conference an BARELY beat an sec team.
After the game, during Jameis...intersting...post game interview on the field, the mouth-breathers in the Auburn endzone were chanting "S-E-C! S-E-C!" I mean, come on. Talk about sore losers.
FSU was the best team in the country this year. You can scoff at the ACC, but they have the #1 overall pick in this coming draft, the national champions, the Heisman winner, Orange bowl champions and a team that people expected to get their doors blown off by A&M giving Johnny Foosball all he could handle. Blahblahblah SEC! It's a good conference, but their run is over and I worry what you people will do with yourselves every fall without "Herpdy Derrrr SEC!" to thump your chests about.
So Louisville moving to the ACC next season means that Bridgewater counts toward to the ACC for this draft despite Bridgewater never playing a down as an ACC player? Are you high?

I'm not really happy for FSU. I'm just happy that an SEC team didn't win. if you want to know why this makes me happy? see the Auburn idiots chanting SEC when they lead 21-3 in the 2nd quarter.

Us ACC people act like this in response to the hooplah around the SEC that fan's have created. Somehow living vicariously through your conference's other teams has become a thing, so the ACC has just as much right to do it as the SEC when their run was happening, SEC fans started this. I have no problem with it in general, especially when you consider how much the ACC as a whole would have been berated in the media had FSU lost this game and how many offbase indictments on the conference would have been somehow brought true by FSU losing. Having said all this, I would never celebrate unc winning a championship because that's how deep the rivalry goes, but every other conference team? I got your back.
It's always a shock for a team that doesn't play in the SEC to end up playing an SEC team in the final. There's just a different level of football there. Missed field goals aside.

I agree with this for the most part, except I'm not really happy at all that FSU won. that's our main competition, they had to beat us to get there, so I'm not happy at all about that. but VS. an SEC team I'm going to celebrate that just because all the SEC fans do it. I've said it before, I'm not a conference fan, I'm a Clemson fan. even if Clemson was in the SEC, I wouldn't jock the rest of the league the way they do. Spurrier just made comments about SC never being able to win a BCS game because they play in the SEC. bullshit, if you were good enough you could win it. that's a loser mentality.

I think this plays into it as well. Cheering for Bama/Georgia/Florida is much rougher than cheering for LSU/SC/Auburn because of rivalries.

I almost feel bad for Malzahn. He outcoached Jimbo last night. Gus called almost a perfect game and had the Noles on their heels in the first half. The fact that Florida State was able to keep their composure and play their game and end up winning says more about how good they are. The final score isn't as indicative of that, but if you watched the game and understand football, you know impressive it was that they didn't fold after going down 21-3.
So props to Auburn for proving to everyone they were no fluke this year. They absolutely deserved to play for the title.
I don't think ecstasy can be counted as performance enhancing, can it? It enhances lights, colors, sensations, but not your ability to play football well.
