Lil Wayne is in a coma after suffering several seizures.
Yeah I was following that and then I saw an update that his buddy says he's doing great and they're watching basketball together. Not sure what's up with this one.
I hope he pulls through, of course... since seeing that documentary on him from a few years ago, I've been pretty concerned his situation would get rather grave sooner or later.

Lil Wayne is in critical condition, TMZ reports.
The 30-year-old rapper was rushed to Cedars Sinai Tuesday for multiple seizures. He was released the next day but was taken to the hospital again after being found unconscious in his room, TMZ reports. According to TMZ, Wayne has been placed in an induced coma.
The rapper Mack Maine tweeted, however, that Wayne is home "alive and well." Another rapper, Birdman, tweeted, "My son is in good spirit..feelin much betta...be home soon."
UPDATE: TMZ has removed from its report a claim that Lil Wayne is "being prepared for his last rites."
UPDATE 9:40pm: TMZ now reports that wayne is "still in critical condition in the ICU...but stabilizing" and "the prognosis is uncertain." They also say "Wayne is sleeping right now," meaning he couldn't have sent that Tweet.
Really bizarre. I hope he makes it through and this is the wake up call he needs. Let's not make jokes about the situation regardless of your level of fandom.

Yea things are strange at the moment. In situations like this it's always hard to tell what's the real story and what's rumors/speculation.

From Fader:
Twitter was set ablaze with speculation Friday evening as TMZ reported that Lil Wayne was in critical condition after suffering another round of seizures. The gossip site originally stated Wayne was found convulsing in his hotel room after a “Sizzurp binge,” and was placed in a medically-induced coma in the ICU at L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where he was first admitted on Tuesday.
Mack Maine was the first from Weezy’s camp to dispel the rumors, tweeting that Lil Wayne was fine and watching the Syracuse-Georgetown basketball game. A tweet was also sent from Lil Wayne’s account stating “I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love.”
Wayne’s publicist has since confirmed that he is “doing well” and “recovering,” and TMZ has deleted mention of Wayne receiving “last rites.” Details are developing.
Clearly just some story he concocted as an excuse for not showing up to a gig. Just like Kanye and Jeezy. Lil Wayne ruined Bonnaroo and he's why Phish will never play on the farm again. Think about it.
