my biggest regret was not giving myself totally to roo the first 2 years i went 09-10. At the time I was new to alot of the music n missed a sh!tload of good shows! I also regret ever reading a thread on hear bout the lights they dropped during mmj. i was at primus and told everyone for months it was for us n it was guys crapping stardust......

It WAS for us! As well as for the people on the WHAT field, that is my belief. I was at Primus as well and the lights were a marketing ploy (an effective and awesome one, i'll admit). The winds just happen to carry most of them over to the crowd at MMJ. Les was on an extended jam just at that very moment they began to drop. He knew it was coming because they probably told the artists that were performing at the time (was MMJ on or was it between MMJ and AF? I was fully immersed in Primus at the time so I didn't check to see what time it was when it happened) that they had some stunt planned and to keep an eye out for the skydivers. It just seemed too well choreographed with where they were in the set and in that jam to be coincidental.
2011- Arrived on Wednesday night, but didn't use sunscreen until Friday. Spent the rest of the weekend as lobster man. My super power was hating my life more than you.
2012- Not doing my best to get a good spot for shows. I didn't want to leave my friends, who liked to hang back away from the crowd, but having personal space at the expense of really getting into a show is not a fair trade. I'm getting in the thick of it this year!

Leaving Phil Lesh to go get ready for Kanye in 2008. Then stood there for hours only to watch for 20 minutes when he finally arrived. Then head back to camp and crash. Guy is an a$$hole.

You know what's good about being old (34)? I would never under any circumstances see kanye.

I don't know that age is a universal factor here. I'm a decade older than you and I can't wait until my next time seeing Kanye.

Probably not just not my thing. That's all. No disrespect intended. I would hate to have an army of POed kanye fans after me. He's obviously doing something right because a lot of.people dig his sound. Its just not for me.
Going on the big ass water slide Thursday afternoon, which cut a huge chunk of skin out of my arm. I got to spend so much time in the medical tent getting my wound re-dressed by my favorite medical staff who gave me juice, cookies and water. Those people are superheroes in my book.

There I go making brash genalizations again! I am sorry to everyone who is both old or young or in between! In short everyone!
And I can imagine I would follow a super beautiful woman sharing super beautiful corn pretty much anywhere including a Kanye concert. I might even NOT regret it. So please except my apology.

Dude, it's all good. No need to apologize. I wanted to go see Kanye to see what the hype was all about. I have also seen Phil a ton of times so I figured why not go expand my horizons and see some hip-hop. Needless to say it was a bad move. I have since come to think Kanye might be the biggest d0uche on the planet. I still like a handfull of his songs but will never again attempt to see him live. I caught half his set that same year at Lollapalooza when I couldn't take the 17 year old kid who was about to puke on me at NIN. Kanye went on a rap about how if he didn't stand up there and tell people he was as great as Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles then nobody would. I got in a cab after that and called it a weekend. Since then he's continued to prove to me what a d!ck he is over and over again.
^ but I don't think I do hate him. I don't really know enough about him I am just kinda ambivilant towards him. It's always been blah whatever toward Kanye for me.

It's OK to say you hate Kanye, I hate Kanye.
Of course it's ok to say you hate Kanye. He wasn't apologizing for that - he was apologizing for making an overgeneralization that was untrue. Apology accepted and we moved on. You are now free to continue your rage campaign.
Hey Tin, is your avatar a pic of someone made out of metal or someone covered with mud?
It is a bronze statue of Ronald James Padavona aka Ronnie James Dio in the Central Park of the metal-loving town of Kavarna, Bulgaria.
I had no clue. It just reminded me of something "festival" funny. At WS 99 the port a potties went wacko and there was a pond of "well you can guess". I was on the left but pretty close to the front of the stage. As I looked back, the people parted like the Red Sea (hey it's Sunday), as the "Sea" continued to part, the back side would start to collapse as the opening parted forward. In the end, what it was: Two dudes covered themselves with the aforesaid pond scum and no one would touch them, let alone stop their "infused" journey.. If I remember correctly, they made it to the front. I guess their conjecture of "What would happen if?" proved to be true, but worth it? ..... cr****
2004 regret: leaving The Dead early cause my friend was tired and cold.
2009 regret: missing David Byrne although my Beasties were on stage at the same time and they took precedence. I will make it point to catch him this year.
I am so sorry you missed the 04 dead show. When they broke out shine on you crazy diamond I couldn't believe it.
It was the beastie boys last show ever so don't feel too bad about missing David Byrne
I feel the exact same way. Skipped David Byrne for Beastie Boys. Kinda regretted it at the time, now, not so much. Especially now that the Bonnaroo Gods have smiled upon me and given me a second chance to see David Byrne. If there's a conflict, I'd be ok skipping an act I've seen before.
.not knowing about inforoo until this year. I would have been so much more prepared for my first roo if I had!
.not going to bonnaroo sooner, and missing the past two years.
.also, making a bad decision in 2010 and feeling too sick to really enjoy The Black Keys. .everything else was amazing though! seeing the last Beastie Boys concert in 2009, seeing other bands/artists I will probably never have the chance to again (Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Buffet, Bruce Springsteen), discovering new music... can't wait to go back this year!!
Letting the people I was with decide what we would do, like leaving early during LCD Soundsystem and completely skipping out on Deadmau5 by going back to the campsite because they were tired.. Ever since then if they are tired and I'm not, I say go on ahead because I'm staying. You can still have fun even if you're by yourself.

missing Alabama Shakes and Grouplove was a huge disappointment for me last year. I made a bad decision and had to call it an early night and sleep away half the day Alabama Shakes played. And I think I slept in the day Grouplove played as well. It wasn't so much of a disappointment at the time, but I started REALLY falling in love with their music post-Bonnaroo!!
Oh man I don't want to rub it in but that is probably one of my most favorite Roo moments. When Jack Johnson came out to join them, I nearly passed out even though he was on stage right before.
A tiny quibble: Eddie came out for Jack's set. Jack didn't come out for Pearl Jam's set. (I have their official bootleg to back it up.)
Hahaha You're totally right! What can I say, it was a very LONG day!

So true! I've ventured out alone many times when my group was either tired or interested in something else; I almost have more fun solo!
2010-not going 2011-missing Justin Townes Earl, and leaving Arcade Fire before "Wake Up" to get close for an underwhelming Lil Wayne performance (though not entirely my idea). 2012-sleeping through Gary Clark Jr's set.

I just want to say AMEN to this. This same year was my first- I took my girlfriend... The first night, she said she wasn't feeling it and just wanted to go. I reminded her how much money I just dropped on the only vacation i'd had in 2 years... she called a cab and left... I had the time of my life at both the LCD Soundsystem and Deadmau5 sets. I fell in love with Roo after splitting with my lady. No regrets about it.
Also not planning ahead as far as making a schedule of sets to see. Again, will be remedied
I try and plan out a schedule ahead of time. I make maybe 60% of it.
It's the thought that counts. I think its why I try not to learn about every band on the lineup. The more I hear the more I want to see. I have enough trouble with the stuff I already love. As of right now I am really into and really really want to see 25 bands on the lineup. There are other bands I might kinda like to see but my must must see list is like 25 bands! I think it would be impossible for me to hit bonnaroo with a must see list of 30 or more because a that point there are more conflicts than I like. At 50-60 plus must see acts there are conflicts all the time. Depending on the additions I may have to just draw the line and wait for the schedule before heckling out more bands. Once the schedule comes out I will have an idea if which conflicts i have and which blocks don't have a solid winner. The ones with no solid winner will demand more attention.
