Daft Punk - 6 (Fuzzy, Juggs, Horn, APCW, Chico, CKS) Deerhunter - 5 (Monster, Problem Dog, Longinus, Papa Steve, Bansheebeat) The National - 3 (Onion, Kwisatz, Mr. Moss) Laura Marling - 2 (AJMac, Sang)
... and down the stretch they come. The early favorite Daft Punk has been riding in the middle of the pack, while the pacesetter Vampire Weekend still runs up front. Daft Punk is making its push at the end, coming into the final stretch - but will it have enough? Deerhunter makes a strong showing, but looks to show barring some unexpected push of its own.
Anyone saying Hannah Hunt is the worst song of the year is being facetious. If they are being serious, their opinions should be under suspicion. You can say it isn't the best song on the album, but WORST song of the YEAR? Your opinion is drunk and needs to go home. What basis?
So far, I'm planning on Kanye being able to give this a run for its money, but my early winner for June is Queens of the Stone Age. I love this shiz.
WOW I was just listening to the album again and listening to a song thinking "Man, this song is growing on me, I REALLY like it!" sure enough, it was Hannah Hunt.
June is going to be impossible between BoC and Kanye. Can't wait.
Wow, no love for Disclosure? Current front runner imo.
I'll preface by saying BoC is one of my top 3 all time favorite bands. So as much as I love the Disclosure album I have to say its going to be pretty impossible to top BoC. Especially judging from the first single they released. I dont have worry in predicting that it's going to be a perfect album.
And of course Kanye is Kanye. When it comes time to put out an album he never disappoints. His albums are always contenders for best of the year. Especially if he continues down the same path as MBDTF.
I love Disclosure, but BoC is going to seriously have to drop the ball for me to go against them.
Looking forward to Sigur Ros, Amon Amarth, Bosnian Rainbows, and Black Sabbath too. As of right now Deafheaven - Sunbather is best album I've heard so far form June. My moneys is on Disclosure winning inforoo AoM for June.

Wait, Sunbather is actually being released in June? D*cks! I swear. June's releases alone could take up a disproportionate amount of space on my top 10 for the year easy by the time everything is said and done.

It can't be the worst song of the year. Pretty sure Pitbull and Kesha have new albums soon.
By "anyone", you are obviously referring to me. And from what I know of Pitbull and Kesha, I probably would dislike their music even more. I obviously don't think Hannah Hunt is the worst song by any other artist in the world. That would be a ridiculous claim. I'm sure there's a Christian rock band playing at a contemporary non-denominational church every Sunday that will blow that sh*t away. But, from all of the albums I have in rotation (yes, I listen to Modern Vampires all the time - almost daily), Hannah Hunt annoys me the most. Sorry to hurt everybody's feelings, but I think there's a sh*tty, lame @ss song on an otherwise great album. Tough sh*t.
Well, I did say that you must be being facetious, but I guess you were actually just exaggerating. And I was responding to you and iamthehorn both badmouthing the song.
I wanted to give my first Album of the Month vote the attention it deserved so I made sure to give all the appropriate albums a few full listens before casting my vote. However, despite my extensive listening over the last few days, my initial feelings remain intact and I vote for :
Deerhunter - 5 (Monster, Problem Dog, Longinus, Papa Steve, Bansheebeat) The National - 3 (Onion, Kwisatz, Mr. Moss) Laura Marling - 2 (AJMac, Sang) Savages - 2 (LD, Cokes)
Any recommendations for June, besides the obvious QOTSA, Boards of Canada, and Black Sabbath?
Jon Hopkins is my current leader, haven't checked the new Sigur Ros yet though.
Yeah that Hopkins is solid. Kanye is still due out before the end of the month though. A lot of folks are behind the Portugal. The Man and Deafheaven already.
