1. Should Kanye play Bonnaroo again? 1.5 Did Kanye scare away all of the Dead related acts? 2. Is this the year there will be a thursday night headliner? 3. Who was the actual headliner on friday night in 2009? 4. Should there still be a jam headliner every year? 5. How many sets has Phish played at Bonnaroo?
1. No 1.5 I wouldn't think so, but it's been 4 'Roos since and no Dead. 2. No 3. It doesn't matter. David Byrne was the best show that year, and that year was the best Bonnaroo. 4. Yes 5. Five sets, three shows.
There, now someone tell me who's headlining Bonnaroo this year.
The fact that there hasn't been Dead members at Roo in four years makes me feel like it's going to happen this year or next.
Phil/the Dead can't be holding a grudge. Phil played Roo the day after and Furthur has played other festivals run by the same people as Roo. They'll be back at some point for sure.
Well, according to other pt sites (yeah, yeah), the Sunday closer (ahem, ahem (Phil)) has fell through, and WSP is picking up the tab. If Phil doesn't have a grudge, then why the report (read it on here) of him goading Neil Young one year into not playing. Personally, I think AC/Superfly crapped in his Wheaties, and the reason he played after the debacle in 2008 is because he wanted to be the better man.
He played the day after because he had made the commitment and signed the contract. He's no Kanye.
Pretty much what I said.
Also, before a response comes back stating that he played Outside Lands...just think that they're from San Francisco, and they were the number two band on the bill that year in what was the weakest lineup of Outside Lands. Time to break out the jump to conclusions mat!
Let's take that with a grain of salt...not very interested in going back on posts regarding it. But I will tell you this, I think it was somebody who knew about the inner workings of AC/Superfly (or claimed he did) who stated it, and was a year when Neil Young was expected/hoped but fell through at last minute, so I'm thinking 2010 year.
