Anybody else think that Bonnaroo is starting to place their highest billed act on Fridays now to get people to come for the whole weekend?
I doubt it. For one I think that RHCP was slightly bigger, also they had a show on Friday in Kentucky or something like that if Im not mistaken. It doesnt make sense to have your biggest act friday because it destroys the momentum of the weekend. People will be in lesser moods when Maccas done and they have Mumford and Phil Lesh to look forward to, and will likely have a lesser experience because of it. That is why I think Saturday will be a fairly large younger act like Kanye or Pearl Jam, or 2 consecutive mid level headliners like Mumford>Phoenix/Bjork/Beck/Soundgarden
I feel like people saying Mumford & Sons can't headline have forgotten 2010. No one thought Kings of Leon could headline either, but we ended up with them and a legend (Stevie Wonder) on the bill.
I'm crossing my fingers we have a 2010 repeat, with Macca being the legend, Mumford being KOL, and Kanye being Jay-Z. That would be beautiful.
without a doubt kol and arcade fire were the 2 least experienced headliners and one had 4 albums the other had 3. You cant play 2 hours on 2 albums unless youre a jam band. Mumfords gonna be a 1hr 30 minute set. Their albums account for 1 hr 50 minutes total, and I really doubt they play every single song they have. Im not saying Mumford dont headline, but someones gonna need to be on the what stage for more than an hour and a half saturday night
They play covers, and could have some excellent guests, especially if you look at the acts that played their Governors of the Road multi-date festival as options. They could easily go for 1.5 hours, and co-headline. I just think they're totally a top 4 band.

I guess this is where my lack of roo experience comes into play. I just want to believe 2 shizzy albums isnt enough to headline bonnaroo
Look, by no means do I necessarily want them to headline. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm just facing the facts. When a band comes out and sales 600K albums in one week in this day and age, that tells you that they are a big draw. People will flock to their show. As soon as I saw those sales numbers, I knew a headlining spot was inevitable.
