Hey guys,
This will be my first time at bonnaroo, and I was just curious how does it work getting to the pit at the main stage? I get confused when I look at pictures of the crowd at the main stage and the pit looks half full but the crowd is pretty stacked behind it.
How do you get into the pit? Its not for VIP tickets, is it?

Nope, not for VIP! It just works a little differently than everywhere else. They empty the pit out after each show so everybody can get a shot at getting up there - nobody can just plant themselves there for the whole day. That means a line forms to get in, so if you're aiming to be up there for a certain show you will still need to show up early. I've never done it myself but from what I hear it's possible to just let the line go past you when the time comes if you're lined up more than one show in advance.
