Yeah...you know I wouldn't be surprised if the third headliner really is the Chili Peppers. It was originally a troll, but I could see it happening. If not them, then I'd guess Pearl Jam. But I definitely think Phoenix and Blur are the other two headliners.
Can someone explain this Phoenix and Blur appeal to me? Are they big on the west coast or something? Phoenix played an afternoon Which stage spot in 2010 and I haven't heard a single from them since, and I've honestly never heard of Blur.
Call me crazy but I highly, highly doubt they'll be headliners. Then again Phoenix is headlining Primavera so what do I know.
Just answered yourself there, buckaroo. Phoenix and Blur are both big enough to headline Coachella.
Primavera is in F'ing Spain though. What's big over there isn't necessarily big over here. Hell, I didn't even recognize 90% of the lineup. Including some of the headliners.

Yeah, that extra $130 per ticket is paying for the untz untz untz and the jimmys picking up trash before any of the omahgawd girls see it hit the ground.

I don't know any Blur either. Well, besides Song 2 of course.

That says more about you than it does anything else.
I know the Coachella headliners. Every year. They have headliners like Prince, the Black Keys, Dr. Dre, Radiohead...you know...sh*t people know. "The Blur"? Seriously? All i'm saying is I've never even heard of them before and i'm pretty plugged into the music scene. The relatively mainstream music scene, that is. If they headline Coach i'll eat my words, but i'd be willing to bet money that they aren't the top line if they're there.

No one is disagreeing that Blur and Phoenix are 'meh' headliners. But they're potential headliner level easy. Sorry Paul T didn't consult you first this year.

Serious question: have you been to Coachella?
Nope. I have analyzed many lineups, pictures, and vidjas though. And the trash comment was a facetious one regarding some comparison to Roo pics a few pages ago.

How much are you betting? Quick, right now. I'll bet you $350.
This seems like a smart bet to me, mjb. Like you said, it's not like anybody knows who the f*ck Phoenix or Blur are.

How the hell have regular posters on a music festival forum never heard of Blur?
There are always bands and acts that fall through the cracks. I know of Blur but can't say i've listened to a full album yet. That's just my ignorance. But I do know a bit about them and their connections to other bands.
Fleetwod Mac was like that for me too....I know the name and a few songs but didn't understand all the love, hype, and excitement over them reuiniting to tour.
Sometimes we just can't know every band that exists. That said...I wouldn't go around saying a certain band can/can't headline a festival if I don't know really know much about them.

Alright man.
Another serious question: What is the extra $130 for at Bonnaroo, to you?

I don't know much (if any) Blur either. Hell, I don't know the music of a lot of popular bands. But I know Blur is huge and just over the years of being exposed to music and music lovers, have heard their name tossed around hundreds of times. It's just extremely surprising to me that people who post on inforoo (and therefore are probably hardcore music lovers) have never heard of them. Not bashing them or their musical tastes, I just honestly can't believe it.

Did Bonnaroo cost $350 this year? Coachella $350 - Primavera $220 - Roo $225 Roo is better because there's not as many conflicts and there's late night shows....more music for your $. And that's not even taking into consideration that I can go to Roo without having to book a plane and rent a car. For what it's going to cost me to go to Coachella (GA and camp), I could do VIP at both Buku and Roo. Step up off these nuts, son.
