Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Not sure if they are cafe or tent. They've played Letterman before so I could see them going either way. I hope they get a Thursday spot.
To answer your question, I am a music journalist. I'm also a college student, so I'm not incredibly hooked up or anything. I have a lot of friends in semi-popular bands (Matt Costa, Guster, Rachel Goodrich, Tea Leaf Green, ALO, etc.). We stay caught up, but I only hang out with these people when they're in town or we're at a festie together.
Cage the Elephant are really involved here in Bowling Green, so it doesn't take much to know them well. Same with Sleeper Agent, Morning Teleportation, Canago, and all the other popular bands from Bowling Green.
So now the question is...What's the 2nd biggest band from the Bowling Green area?
I think David Bazan is a likely artist addition. I'm hoping for Good Old War, Manchester Orchestra and Kevin Devine!
I'm hoping for David Bazan as well. I became tremendously attached to his first solo release for one reason or another. He'd be a great act early afternoon act. Unfortunately his tour dates with City and Colour don't continue after Bonnaroo so it's up in the air I think.
Bon Iver doesn't have a confirmed date yet. Everyone is assuming he'll play Friday but he could pre-headline Saturday as well.
Or Jack White.
Yeeep. If things stay the way they are, I'd honestly assume we'd get Bon Iver on Saturday and Avett on Friday. Yes, genre wise it makes more sense the other way around, but that hasn't stopped them before.
Still hoping for the later part of your post though.

David is playing a living room show in Alabama on the 12th so if he's going to be in the area until then... I think it's a good chance! Have you heard his newest album, Strange Negotiations? It's awesome.

I posted "Sam Bush" on the last page and chris "liked" it. Has played Bonnaroo before, from Bowling Green... I think it's him.
Wow. I won't try and change anything I had written but wow. Drunk posting at it's finest.
What I was trying to say was that I think it's odd that the app was released so early. They may have done it to make up for the fact of last year. I also think that it may be a tool to help with scheduling.
I don't think it would be the only factor but it may help with some of the past fiasco's ( think Mumford/Wiz last year) if they see a ton of people would rather see one band over another.
I dunno. It's just a thought.

Some bands that were billed low also got a huge bump in the lineup. Could be a good theory.
So if this year is anything like the last couple years, we should get the final group of additions plus the comedy acts in the first or second week of April

I've seen Manchester Orch and Kevin Devine do a collaboration a long time ago in NYC.
Weatherbox > Biffy Clyro > Manchester Orch (feat. Kev Devine) > Say Anything.
Was a fun show.
I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO TO THAT SHOW. I had tickets to the Philly and NYC shows, but I broke up with a gf at the time and she took the NYC tickets and I took the Philly ones. I am pretty sure Kevin didnt come out I had no idea that happened at the NY show kinda cool.

I've mentioned this before, but with no big name reggae acts, I really hope the Beach Boys kick off the What Stage on Sunday. Sunday Morning Reggae used to be a great tradition that set the tone for the entire day. To me, it's the perfect fit.

a 4th billed band OPENING a stage?
yeah right...
Makes a TON of sense. They've gotta be done in time for the AARP specials at Golden Corral.

This wasn't a prediction, just a wish. I don't think the Beach Boys give two shitts about pecking order placements. If they feel more comfortable playing early, I bet they get that slot. Stranger things have happened.

Buffet played an opening Sunday spot, right? I know he wasn't officially billed but there's some precedent. With June 9th off on their schedule it could work.

Not necessarily. Ilo and the Coral Reef Allstars were already booked for that opening Sunday slot on the Which stage. It just so happened that Buffett joined in with that set.
If Buffett was officially billed/on the lineup there's no way he'd play for an hour on the Which Stage as the first act of the day.

Pretty sure it was on a Saturday, and they announced Buffett a couple days before the festival. So technically, he was officially billed
I can see Beach Boys opening What on Sunday if they are so inclined. It makes sense for the festival too, as it will get people into Centeroo earlier in the day. The crowd will roughly be the same either way, and I doubt the band gives a crap where they are billed on the lineup
