Just got tickets to see Diplo play a small venue in STL tomorrow night for free. They are driving around in a truck giving out free tickets around local college campuses

I feel like I am more into Diplo by himself or even the stuff he did with MIA over Major Lazer but they are still cool. I saw them at camp biscotti a few years ago and was kind of annoyed by them but it was pretty much whoever the dude with the mic on stage was. He wouldn't shut up and alls anyone wanted was tem to get off stage so the biscuits would go on
I have to tell you guys I downloaded a bunch of Major Lazer's stuff and I love listening to it while I'm at the gym. I had no idea who they were before but now I'm excited to see them!
I'm glad there's fellow annoyance with the hype man out there. He made their show so bad. I will repeat again though: even without him, their live show bears little resemblance to their record. At least the once I saw. Keep that in mind when deciding who to see. It will be a total party though.

I'm starting to think we're all talking about different major lazers. I've seen them three times, hypeman was never annoying (punctuated the action rather than tried to instigate it), music was great, great shows all three.

I'm thrilled to hear this! Major Lazer does seem like an act that, purely based on the album, could have gone either way live. Love the album, love Diplo, and that new song is very good as well! Hopefully we'll get the late night artists soon so I can see who will potentially conflict.
There is no chance that Diplo wont drop Express Yourself during the Major Lazer set. It's going to be a healthy dose of the album material as well as the new album tracks and all pieced together with Diplo's original stuff. I'd expect a 2 hr set.
Saw them last night at DEMF. I didn't realize Switch had left the project, but Diplo had somebody that looked vaguely like ?uestlove behind the decks with him. The hype man definitely got annoying, and it was hard to really get into the set when they kept stopping the songs to tell the crowd to "JUMP!!!". Overall it was a fun set though, and is definitely going to be a crazy party on the farm.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

saw them tonight at the vogue in indy, it was so much fun. The hype man didn't really get annoying. He did keep saying jump which did suck but it made it fun. Some of the tracks they dropped were ridiculous. Prepare for an awesome dance party.

Switch is just no longer touring as part of Major Lazer but is still working on the actual recorded material with Diplo.
Major Lazer's live shows previously included hype man Skerrit Bwoy[8] although Skerrit Bwoy left the group in 2012 to pursue religion.
Switch has left the collaborative effort due to "creative differences" as claimed by Diplo. He departed in late 2011. Diplo is now the sole producer behind the project.
New record will still have tracks that feature production from Switch as the majority ofn the record was recorded in Fall of 2011 in Kingston, Jamaica.
That show was insane. I was pretty far back, but that energy was crazy.
I agree. When the schedule came out, I was bummed about The Word and Black Star conflicting, but after walking by all three shows, we were drawn back to Major Lazer.
